Job Overview:
The Operations Officer (Deliveries) is responsible for managing operational and administrative processes related to Futures Delivery events. This includes overseeing the processing of futures contracts, ensuring the accuracy of physical delivery events upon expiry, and monitoring client positions across multiple markets. The role requires identifying and managing operational risks, enhancing service quality, and implementing solutions to streamline the clearing process.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Attention to Detail: Review client instructions, amendments, allocations, and corrections across the entire lifecycle of futures transactions with high attention to detail to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Client Position Monitoring: Review and monitor customer and firm positions to ensure they align with delivery procedures, and identify any discrepancies or potential risks.
  • Position Limits & Compliance: Manage and monitor position limits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, confirming positions, and meeting reporting obligations on all relevant accounts.
  • Physical Delivery Monitoring: Track client positions for physical deliverables on expiring contracts, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Deadline Management: Adapt to changing demands and challenges while maintaining focus on meeting critical deadlines and operational targets.
  • Risk Management: Identify areas for operational improvement to reduce risk, particularly around the accuracy and timely execution of delivery processes.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously identify and recommend process enhancements to increase efficiency and mitigate risk. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement solutions.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Write clear and concise work instructions and process documentation to facilitate knowledge transfer and ensure consistent practices across teams.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years' experience in futures clearing, with a solid understanding of futures delivery processes and clearing operations.
  • Product Knowledge: Strong confidence in knowledge of futures products, market mechanics, and settlement procedures.
  • Deadline-Oriented: Demonstrated ability to work effectively within tight deadlines, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-Starter: Proactive, with a strong desire to identify inefficiencies and drive improvements within operational processes.
  • Process Improvement Focused: Intellectual curiosity with the ability to identify and execute process improvements that enhance efficiency, revenue generation, and risk mitigation.
  • Customer Service: Exceptional customer service, communication, and organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage complex client relationships.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work in a team environment while leading by example, sharing knowledge, and driving performance.
  • Attention to Detail: High emphasis on accuracy and precision in all aspects of daily operations.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exchange Systems Experience: Familiarity with Exchange systems such as CME Portal, OCC Portal, ICE Portal, and other relevant platforms.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of exchange rules and regulations, particularly around futures and physical delivery.
  • Analytical & Reconciliation Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with superior analytical, reconciliation, and issue resolution skills.
  • Process Automation: Ability to identify inefficiencies in current processes and drive improvements through automation tools and techniques.
  • Risk Mitigation: Experience in identifying risks within operational processes and implementing solutions to reduce exposure.
  • Cross-Functional Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with teams across different time zones and regions, ensuring alignment on project goals and deliverables.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Technical Tools Experience: Familiarity with research and monitoring tools such as SQL databases, JIRA, and other project management or process tracking tools.
  • Professional Certifications: Certifications in relevant tools or methodologies, such as SQL, JIRA Project Management, or similar certifications, are preferred.


Annual base salary, not including discretionary bonus eligibility: $88,000-$138,000
