You help implement the operational excellence program in a specific function and/or for cross-functional continuous improvement (CI) projects. You are not only responsible for applying CI tools and techniques for problem solving and performance improvement but more importantly, you help employees improve their CI skills and build their self-sufficiency.
How you will contribute
You will:

  • Provide training on CI tools and techniques to help drive teams through CI cycles. You will also coach employees to help them achieve their targets
  • Identify process improvement needs with department leads, facilitate sessions and support execution of newly established improvements
  • Once improvements are done, validate outcome benefits and support creation of new standards and qualification of members into new working processes
  • Benchmark externally, ensuring where relevant that best practice and new tools are deployed in collaboration with internal partners

What you need to know about this position:
In this exciting role you will integrate the Supply Chain Excellence department and manage Autonomous Maintenance (AM) engineering practices across 5 manufacturing plants and 2 distribution centers, comprising 54 production lines with an annual output of 180,000 tons and more than 1,900 employees.
Job specific requirements:

  • Participate in the Global AM committee, contributing to the development, deployment, and execution of the global AM strategic plan across Canadian sites.
  • Lead the Canada AM committee, consisting of five indirect reports, Operations Managers, from various sites, handling the planning, organization, direction, tracking, and assessment of AM department ensuring the deployment and execution of the global AM Strategic Plan and compliance with company pillar standards.
  • Serve on the Canada Integrated Lean Six Sigma (IL6S) Steering Committee, a Mondelēz manufacturing excellence program, collaborating with IL6S pillar and department leads to develop an integrated AM Masterplan that aligns with all other pillars activities.
  • Develop, certify, and maintain capability of Operations Managers as AM Leads at their respective sites in AM methodologies, continuous improvement, and problem-solving methodologies, tools and techniques, validating outcome benefits, supporting the creation of new standards, and qualify members into new standard work processes.
  • Coach AM Leads, Line Managers and Process Engineers while assigning, designing, setting goals, implementing, supporting, managing, and reviewing effectiveness of projects, focusing on addressing specific AM losses related to lines' Global Efficiency (GE) losses reduction, including minor stops, operational losses, breakdowns, and waste through the creation of AM standards (CIL and CL).
  • Assess the maturity level of AM against internal standards and policies, and internal clients' expectations, proposing improvement plans based on identified opportunities and report findings to senior leadership, including Plant Directors and Operations Managers, and internal clients.
  • Coach and progress Plants through IL6S phases as a BU IL6S coach, focusing on IL6S fundamentals, partnering, consulting, and negotiating with Senior Plants' Leadership Teams to ensure compliance with company's methodology and facilitate necessary changes to deliver expected results according to phase requirements.
  • Collaborate in various steering committees to share best practices across global and regional sites, facilitating the implementation of these practices in other regions, business units, and plants to accelerate success in IL6S and AM implementation.
  • Collaborate closely with the Progressive Maintenance Pillar Lead to restore equipment across all sites to optimal condition, ensuring improved production line performance and enhanced asset reliability, while also optimizing maintenance costs.
  • Direct lines' performance and cost reduction initiatives through the utilization of AM methodologies, tools, and problem-solving techniques and engineering principles, overseeing the implementation of projects concerning production performance and data collection processes across production lines, in collaboration with Shoplogix, a subcontractor of Mondelēz Canada.
  • Lead the development, design, goal setting, implementation, support, management, and review of technical AM projects and engineering principles focusing on Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE), Quality, Cost, Service, Production, and Client satisfaction.
  • Develop and refine technical work process standards, methods, and policies for IL6S and AM departments, customizing them for implementation on production lines to enhance overall performance, reliability, and cost optimization.
  • Regularly connect, consult and negotiate with key stakeholders, including Business Unit Leaders, Plant Directors, IL6S Managers, Operations Managers (AM), FI Pillar Leads, and internal clients to ensure alignment and progress towards the organization's goals, particularly focusing on Global Efficiency (GE).
  • Develop strategic plans, set targets, and track outcomes using Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) and Manufacturing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), providing weekly, monthly, and quarterly executive reports promptly and consistently as needed. Collaborate with plant GE KPI owners to ensure accuracy and timeliness of reports.


Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • At lease 5 years Production experience with strong preference for demonstrated AM Pillar Lead expertise.


Travel requirements:
Travel among multiple facilities within GTA required.
