Job Responsibilities:
As the Automation Lead at Magna's production unit in Vårgårda, you will be at the forefront of driving automation initiatives. Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing system development, standardization, and maintenance within PLC, Robotics, Licenses, Backup Management, and other automation areas.
You will play a crucial role in industrializing these systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of efficiency and reliability.
In this role, you will lead efforts to enhance the organization's capabilities within Industry 4.0, leveraging your expertise to establish the prerequisites for a SMART Factory. You will be instrumental in guiding ongoing and future industrialization projects, representing your area and coordinating necessary activities to achieve project goals.
Your guidance and support will be key in fostering collaboration across the organization, providing training, solving complex problems, and expanding the team's knowledge and skills in automation. By driving innovation and embracing the latest technologies, you will help Magna stay ahead in the competitive landscape of industrial automation.
Qualifications
You should have relevant experience, whether through education or professional qualifications, and an interest in innovation, process development, and leading-edge technology within the industry. The role needs strong communication and leadership abilities, as it involves managing and guiding resources while collaborating extensively across the organization .
We are looking for someone who is open-minded, self-driven, responsible,
committed, with good collaboration skills both internally and externally.
A bachelor's in engineering or Automation, or similar experience and relevant work experience within Automation and SMART Factory is required.
Some key factors to be successful in this position:

  • Skills within various Automation Systems (Omron Sysmac, Siemens Simatic, Vision (Cognex), HMI/GUI, Scada, Robot, and other automation tools)
  • Understanding of mechanical perspectives to grasp the full scope of projects and tasks
  • Project Management skills are essential and also ability to lead and coach teams
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written in both Swedish and English
  • Knowledge in scripting languages (C, C++, C#, Python) for creating automation scripts
  • Experience in a global work environment is a plus
