Job Description
Automation Engineering Lead is going to take care of her/his team within our largest biscuit factory in Europe. Her/His responsibility is to combine all the key aspects like a people care/leadership, benchmarking, project management, and procedural compliance, in order to deliver a productivity improvements, integrating automation, digitalization and standard engineering fields.
What does this job entail?
People Leadership - Engineering Team:

  • Lead and develop the engineering team, ensuring the team's continuous growth throughout benchmarking automation, digitalization and standard engineering knowledge and skills.
  • Coach and mentor direct reports, creating a robust deputy system to ensure continuity in team functions.
  • Develop and manage the succession planning process to ensure the sustainability of the team's technical capabilities.


Project Management:

  • Lead cross-functional teams throughout the entire project lifecycle, from planning to execution, delivering a 5% year-over-year productivity improvements by automation and digitalization
  • Closely collaborate with regional/global engineering teams, R&D, quality, HSE, Product Safety and manufacturing to support performance KPIs
  • Foster benchmarking to identify and implement best practices, bringing innovative technologies to the plant
  • Take full responsibility for the execution of projects according to the internal methodology, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and cost adherence within VSU reporting.


Finance Management:

  • Take full responsibility for the realization of investment projects within the agreed budget CAPEX/OPEX
  • Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring accurate and efficient tracking of CAPEX spending and expenditure phasing.
  • Provide monthly reporting on budget status, ensuring financial oversight and alignment with overall project goals.


Procedures & Standards:

  • Create, update, and ensure adherence to procedures and standards aligned with internal requirements, driving consistency and compliance within the engineering team.
  • Ensure compliance with various safety, food safety, quality, and environmental programs across all projects and operations, promoting a culture of compliance and awareness within the team.


What should you be able to do?

  • Lead direct reports
  • Apply previous experience in automation, digitalization and standard engineering fields within a lead function
  • Identify, challenge a status Quo by execution of innovations at manufacturing field delivering a 5% year-over-year productivity improvements
  • Speak English fluently
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and have a strong time management
