Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Sr Automation Engineer located in Guadalajara, North Site.

The Sr Automation Engineer role involves responsible for specifying, designing and maintaining automation equipment, tooling and applications as required to meet specifications.

What a typical day looks like:

• Design, engineer, and modify existing and new moderately complex automation equipment, tooling and applications to automate manufacturing processes.
• Establish technical manuals, drawings, models, training documentation, preventative maintenance plans and troubleshooting guides for automated equipment and automated processes.
• Understand the machine operating standards, on sequence of wear and tear parts and product defects.
• Ensure the uptime of machines through regular preventive maintenance and breakdown maintenance.
• Should be willing to learn & enhance the skill in all type of Automation equipment.
• Should prepare why-why evaluation & drive for permanent corrective actions.
• Should be able to give feedback to improve the design of process and equipment.
• Directs daily department activities to maximize equipment utilization and support production needs.
• Coordinates maintenance activities with other functional groups such as engineering and operations to ensure the efficient operation of the departmental function.
• Collaborates and offers input to planning, building, and maintaining the Automation framework and associated processes for new products.
• Identifies and drives change to ensure automation effectiveness of existing processes.
• Demonstrates and thorough understanding of customer requirements, offer suggestions and ideas on how best to deliver automation solutions.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• BS degree in Engineering electronics, mechanics, mechatronics or similar
• Fluent English, written and spoken.
• Strong experience in servo and encoder mechanisms
• Strong knowledge of SCARA, Industrial, collaborative robots, (Yamaha, Nachi, Fanuc, OMRON)
• Experience developing automated assembly cells.
• PLC Programming
• Programming in Python & C++.
• Manufacturing process concepts.
• SolidWorks management
• Strong knowledge of safety systems oriented to operator safety.
• Advance knowledge in Electrical design, implementation and debugging for Automation development equipment, using Electrical design SW, such as: AutoCAD Electrical, Eplan, others.
• Advance knowledge in Pneumatic design, implementation and debugging for Automation development equipment.
• Knowledge in Automation-Maintenance and Engineering
• Valid US Visa and passport.
• Availability to travel
• Demonstrate capability to explain automation design guidelines and run workshops for dfA analysis.
• Exercises wide latitude in determining objectives and approach to critical assignments. 'Provides direction on large/critical projects.
• Experience with suppliers for automation integration solution.
• Interpretation and establishment of KPI and Operational Metrics for automation devices.
