The Automation Engineer will help develop, manage and execute plans for deploying changes, improving reliability and performance, boarding user groups, and improving the services provided by the technology team that supports software development tools. This position will require a Rotational on call (1 week every 4 weeks)
What you’ll do

Contribute as a DevOps team member focused on modernization and automation

Be a champion for DevOps principles and culture change

Be responsible for working on building, automating, and supporting application and infrastructure deployment services that target Equifax’s Public Cloud Environments.

Design and implement monitoring and self-healing processes
-
Identify and Implement Process Improvements and documentation
-
Design and implement orchestration/workflows that integrate multiple services to provide self-service fully automated services.

Utilize engineering and programming skills focused on enabling a DevOps model
-
Configuration and change management
-
Develop and document operations run books
-
Lead and develop team from a technical and managerial perspective

Participate in and provide feedback on systems engineering and design
-
Provide input on the future execution of the delivery and management of environments with a strong emphasis on automation, security, scalability and resilience
What experience you need
-
BS or Associate's Degree/Technical Certification
-
2-4 years related experience in the application development
-
Experience with public cloud GCP and/or AWS
-
Working knowledge of Google Suite Tools, Confluence and JIRA
-
A basic understanding of infrastructure and application components
-
A sound understanding of SDLC Methodologies including Scrum and Agile Principles
-
Proficiency working with Java, Python and TypeScript
-
Experience with continuous integration and delivery tools (Jenkins, GitHub/Git Actions, Sonar & Nexus)

Cloud Certification in GCP or AWS (preferred)
What could set you apart

Experience using tools/technologies to develop infrastructure as code (IAC) such as Terraform, Chef, Ansible, Puppet

Experience designing/developing Policy as Code

Experience in system administration for OS (Linux, Windows) and/or middleware (web servers, application servers, database, etc)

Experience working in a hybrid cloud environment or transforming applications from on-premise data centers to public cloud

Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision

Strong interpersonal and time management skills

Ability and desire to work with people all over the world, with the probability of a varying work schedule to accommodate different time zones
