Job Description
ABOUT YOUR ROLE
The Automation Developer is responsible for the creation & maintenance of all graphics automation routines using existing and future automation tools/methodologies for all supported production methods. Typically using FileMaker, InDesign/InData, Quadient Inspire Designer and Internal software. To provide automated routines to automatically typeset the data to provide output compatible with multiple different print methods and / or image setters / Computer to Plate (CTP) devices.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:
The main duties of the role will include, but not be limited to:

Working with Customer Front End (CFE) , Data Solutions Specialists (DSS) and operations teams to support new customer programmes and initiatives, ensuring graphics automation routines are available in a timely manner in line with receipt of customer orders.

Analyze and provide professional advice to requesters or project teams in order to complete and improve the end to end automation process.

Ensure that all customer programmes are created to existing standards relating to Graphics and data automation, such as coding conventions, procedures, operational manuals and consistency of formatting, etc

Ensure accuracy and consistency of setups on a global basis for all automation maintained programmes.

Provide support to other Development teams to assist with testing and review of any new routines prior to deployment in a live environment.

Provide support for any reported issues relating to either setup of new products and / or amended products or errors with existing routines.

Be responsible for the timely resolution of all issues and correction / migration of any fixes to all global production sites to ensure consistent accurate manufacturing.

Review and monitoring of automation to ensure maximum benefits in each of the operational sites.

To work to and maintain personal GPS.

To maintain a good standard of housekeeping for your own workstation and the department as a whole at all times.

To adhere to all health and safety procedures which apply within the department.

Perform any other duties as requested by your Team Lead / Manager.
Qualifications
WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:

-BSc / BCA in Computer Science, preferably with 2+ years of experience
-
Experience in automated data, graphics, print environment or similar. Knowledge of any graphics software - Indesign / Photoshop / Quadient Inspire Designer advantageous but not essential

High level of computer literacy. Knowledge of any programming language such as Javascript, Java, C++ etc advantageous

Good analyzing, problem solving and Project Management skills

Ability to work under pressure, manage large workloads and deal with challenges in a professional and calm manner.

Good communication skills

Good English skills both written and verbal

Good attention to detail

Self motivated and work independently.
