Role: Associate Team Leader
Shift: General
The Team Lead manages research activities for a team of up to 10 analysts conducting climate-related research. The position will oversee the output and quality of the research performed by the analyst team. The ideal candidate can thrive in a fast-paced dynamic technical environment, has strong communication skills, forms strong relationships with stakeholders, and proactively identifies and manages risks while improving the analyst team's performance, and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Manage People
- Lead a team of analysts by providing clear direction, establishing SMART goals, and optimizing resource allocation.
- Provide coaching and training to develop the necessary technical skills and content knowledge.
Manage Research Output
- Lead effective research planning, analyse team performance, and produce monthly reports for Senior Managers.
- Ensure timely delivery of climate and ESG research, meeting research and quality requirements.
Manage Content
- Stimulate team members to enhance their understanding of relevant climate-related issues and to improve analyst guidance on related research indicators.
Improve Business Processes
- Partner with the Continuous Improvement team to optimize the research process and to assess root causes of issues using LEAN Six Sigma tools and methodologies
- Assist the Associate Director/Research Manager in identifying and eliminating roadblocks by partnering with the Research Operations team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (business, finance, environment and/or social science).
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a research environment, with a focus in the company research/ESG space/climate.
- Fluency in English with strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office suite, particularly MS Excel; experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI/Tableau is considered an asset.
- Prior experience leading teams of 5+ people will be a plus.
- Strong analytical and entrepreneurial skills, problem-solving attitude, and quick decisiveness.
- Meticulous attention to detail; good project management and execution skills.
- Proven experience optimizing processes, affinity with text mining and/or exposure to artificial intelligence is an asset.
