The Opportunity
This position works out of our Westfield, IN location in the Structural Heart division. Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life through the design and provision of device and management solutions for the treatment of structural heart disease.
As the Associate Supplier Quality Engineer, you’ll have the chance to be the primary engineering support for receiving inspection processes and material non-conformances. Drives improvement and corrective action in the quality of components sourced from outside suppliers to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances. Monitors supplier performance to drive supplier corrective action, manufacturing yield issues and field failures.
What You’ll Work On
- Maintains incoming inspection procedures.
- Trains inspectors to these procedures.
- Develops and/or sources inspection tools and equipment.
- Assists in generating component specifications.
- Analyzes incoming material defects.
- Dispositions and drives corrective action as necessary.
- Communicates issues to suppliers.
- Work to resolve supplier technical issues in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply.
- Investigates field failures related to supplier materials.
- Develop corrective action plan where necessary.
- Develop long term supplier relationships and generate and implement cost reduction ideas.
- Begins developing a network of internal resources to facilitate completion of tasks.
- Individual influence is typically exerted at the peer level.
- Completes daily work to meet established schedule with guidance from supervisor on prioritization of tasks.
- May exercise authority within pre-established limits and approval.
- Failure to achieve results can normally be overcome without serious effect on schedules and programs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- 0-2 years of related work experience with a basic understanding of specified functional area.
