The Role

Fisher & Paykel is an iconic New Zealand brand, a global company with a strong local heritage. Our origins inspire our culture of curiosity and passion to develop solutions designed around people – these are some of the core elements that make us unique.

We are driven by our values of being trusted, sustainably minded, innovative, generous and curious. As a team we take a collaborative approach and have a working environment where all ideas are heard, evaluated and tested against our leading goal - to be the world's most human-centred appliance brand.

Our Global Product Management (GPM) team drives the strategic direction and profitable growth of our various product portfolios. The Associate Product Manager is integral in supporting the successful introduction of new products into markets.

This role will work across all brand and category projects in a fluid manner supporting fluctuating workloads, giving you variety and a broad knowledge across all product lines. You'll gain exposure with Chief Engineers, Industrial Designers, our global & regional teams and General Managers of all Product Lines to support the business strategy and leading goals for Fisher & Paykel Appliances.

This is a product focused role that needs someone who can establish and maintain strong working relationships with the many areas of the business that this role interacts with day to day. You will have responsibility for the end-to-end management of New Product Requests, monitoring key pre-launch project actions and timelines and raising challenges early to facilitate action where needed. In time, you will develop a deep understanding of the global competitive landscape for relevant categories, and you'll have an innate ability to take hard and soft data from multiple sources and turn it into genuine insights.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is not only passionate about products, but actively takes a continuous improvement lens to identifying, engaging with the wider stakeholders to ensure successful product launch in markets, as well as supporting the GPM team in administrative tasks.

You will have the ability to grow into a role that influences and leads across the business to ensure commercial success of product lines. You will be proactive by nature, demonstrate initiative and be highly organised.

You may have a drive for career growth and take an active role in your professional development. As your skillset and competency grows you will gain operational ownership and leadership of specific product projects, subcategories, and/or special projects, ensuring they remain aligned to the business goals and requirements. Or alternatively you are at a point in your career where you are comfortable with your abilities and are content to put them to their best possible use in this role.

You will thrive in a hands-on environment and will be great at influencing stakeholders across the business and throughout the product life cycle with great work, sound reasoning, and your natural collaborative style. On the technical side, you may have a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business or Engineering.

You are likely to have previous working experience in either product management, marketing or even in a product development role, but don't let us pigeon-hole you. A key component of what you have to offer is that you've got a genuine interest in the business and a passion for our product offering. Finally, while a certain level of aptitude is important to us, the right attitude is crucial.

What we offer

We can give you the rare opportunity to move into a large, complex global organisation headquartered in NZ. This role has diverse and exciting challenges and the chance to continually learn and develop.

Along with a competitive salary, flexible working, ongoing development, our leading Whanau/Family Leave policy and excellent growth and progression opportunities, as a valued member of our team you’ll enjoy generous discounts on Fisher & Paykel and Haier products, life & disability insurance, discounted medical cover, access to our superannuation scheme, our subsidised staff café, and free car parking when you are on-site.

All this, coupled with great leadership and backed by a world leading heritage brand that is consistently ranked as one of New Zealand’s most Trusted Brands… year after year.
