Summary
The Platform Engineering Team is seeking elite software engineers to join our team in our mission to empower OCC’s community of engineers with reliable DevOps solutions, and to help us drive forward the development of our Internal Developer Portal.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Actively participating in Agile ceremonies (daily standup, refinement, planning, etc.)
- Influencing team direction, assisting in planning and coordinating activities
- Working on user stories:
- Automating manual processes and workflows
- Writing high-quality programming code
- Writing user and developer documentation
- Reviewing pull requests to ensure adherence to highest quality standards
- Developing automated tests and ensuring adequate test coverage
- Debugging and troubleshooting issues
- Containerizing applications and implementing Infrastructure as Code
- Provisioning and maintaining cloud resources
- Devising and implementing high-availability and resilience solutions
- Designing implementation, logical, dataflow and other technical diagrams
- Collaborating with Architecture on devising solution architecture
- Collaborating with identity/security teams on setting up roles and permissions
- Identifying necessary work and creating and grooming new user stories based on it
- Collaborating with other teams to drive organizational success
- Demonstrating features to stakeholders and leadership
- Advising teams in the process of decision-making
- Presenting concepts/projects to technical and non-technical stakeholders clearly
- Engaging stakeholders to gather business requirements
- Engaging Business Management to analyze requirements
- Engaging Architecture and Security to obtain reviews and approvals
- Promoting standards and best practices across applications, security & configurations
- Providing guidance to software, DevOps and systems engineers
- Mentoring/coaching junior developers
- Ensuring policies and standard operating procedures are followed strictly
- Proactively taking initiatives to drive operational excellence
- Monitoring Slack channels and mailing lists to ensure swift turnaround to requests
- Ensuring deadlines and SLAs are met
- Staying up-to-date on the latest technology trends and standards

Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years programming experience
- Hands-on experience working in Agile and DevOps cultures, focusing on Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) automation and process improvement
- Experience working both independently and well as collaborating in a fast-paced, change-oriented, and demanding IT environment with a strong focus on business outcomes
- Self-starter – takes the initiative to research, learn, and deliver. Anticipates the play.
- Team player – humble, collaborative, and focused on making sure the entire team succeeds
- Previous experience working in highly-regulated organizations considered a plus, especially in the finance industry
Technical Skill
- At least 3 years of prior hands-on experience with Python, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins and Terraform (preferably Enterprise)
- Fluency writing unit and integration tests, especially with frameworks such as pytest and unittest
- Working experience with AWS, particularly with EC2, IAM Roles and Policies, S3 Bucket Policies, Security Groups, NACLs, multi-region failover, high availability and fault tolerant architectures, and containerized microservices
- Prior experience using GitHub, Docker/Podman, Kubernetes, Jenkins and Terraform
- Knowledge of Linux, bash, JavaScript/TypeScript, OWASP Top 10 and ServiceNow a plus
Education and/or Training
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in STEM
Certificates or Licenses
- Relevant industry certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect and/or Developer Associate preferred

Salary Range
121,500.00 - 158,100.00 - 194,800.00 USD Annual
Incentive Range
8% to 15%
