What You'll Do:

This role is responsible for managing and maintaining the IT portfolio, inclusive of programs, projects, enhancements, and non-discretionary efforts. Candidates will collaborate with IT leaders and their managers to review the book of work, review the demands for their teams, and identify potential out-trades and risks in our ability to deliver upon our commitments.  This role will be responsible for the maintenance of the IT portfolio forecast process in SharePoint which includes managing the monthly cycle, maintenance and reports in PowerBI. 

This role will involve regular interactions with IT leadership, their resource managers, the Project Management Office, and Corporate Finance.  This role is critical to ensuring Technology achieves its goals, commitments, and quality standards.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily.

  • Partners with business and IT leaders throughout their assigned portfolio(s) to understand business operations and needs, to provide thought leadership and support.

  • Create and manage processes for large user groups and maintain repeatability in the face of dynamic requirements.

  • Automate and combine non-standardized data across multiple systems including HR, Financial, Time Tracking, Procurement, and Project Systems

  • Reports to Executives and C-suite leaders on performance and metrics of key initiatives within the Technology portfolio(s).

  • Acts as a strong advocate for Technology when collaborating across Corporate Development and Project Management Office on the approach and coordination across the enterprise portfolio

  • Identifies, based on supply / demand, current and future work resource needs, including permanent headcount and contractors

  • Prepares and presents monthly portfolio reviews and ensures the product teams are aligned and prepared to represent variances and escalation needs.

  • Ensures that teams within their portfolio develop, manage, and maintain comprehensive, accurate plans and schedules and resourcing, as well as perform estimation, forecasting, planning, analysis, issue / risk / change management, and escalation management.

  • Ensures efforts continue to align with business case and benefits through delivery.

  • Uses an integrated approach to ensure business needs are achieved by advocating for stakeholders and product teams. Ensures deliverables are coordinated with stakeholder and portfolio goals.

  • Understanding of cost / benefit of IT portfolio to properly identify gaps in bottom line

  • Awareness of budget and performance of financials for assigned portfolio(s) in partnership with Finance.

  • Creates, maintains, socializes, and enforces budget and forecasting processes in partnership with Finance. Improves overall delivery model through consistent feedback loop and Information sharing.

  • Drives the strategy and maturity of the Technology workforce planning, demand management and portfolio management processes and tooling.

  • Provides subject matter expertise on best practices and stays up to date on trends and developments within Project Delivery, Agile, CI/CD, emerging technologies/tools

  • Establish forums that drive visibility across teams, address scope and priorities, and raise risks, issues, or roadblocks. Facilitate cross team collaboration to mitigate coordination challenges

  • Strong experience in project portfolio management, project management, or continuous process improvement

  • Aptitude or applied understanding of input systems, data architecture, and reporting as it applies to resource or financial planning including concepts such as data validation, relational data, scenario planning, what if scenarios, and the ability to quickly identify the root cause of changes/blockers within a moderately complex data model.

  • Experience within technology and financial services preferred

  • Demonstrated experience and success with organizational process design and implementation.

  • Strong customer service mindset

  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and strong reasoning skills as well as good analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to review substantial amounts of data and analyze and spot trends and provide analysis and insights

  • Experience consolidating data from multiple data sources

  • Strong ability to see how a diverse set of efforts can be successfully managed as a cohesive program.

  • Strong acumen for developing data visualizations and insights that drive action

  • Proven experience working in an environment with multiple large, complex portfolios across multiple functions.

  • Successfully managed business and technical resources under an integrated project plan to ensure the alignment of resources.

  • Ability to exercise professional judgement and assume responsibility for decisions which impact people, quality of service, and costs.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with peers, clients, IT management, and subordinates in a cross functional team. Ability to present and contextualize information and data that can be consumed by senior leaders and C-Suite executives.

  • Proven experience managing and mentoring staff in a matrixed organization and providing performance feedback. Proven ability to lead and motivate others in accomplishing goals.

  • Strong understanding of project financial management, including internally developed software capitalization.

Technical Skills:

  • [Required] Experience in JIRA, SharePoint, and Portfolio Estimation tools

  • [Required] Advanced skills/experience with SharePoint, and ability to navigate a visualization tool such as Tableau or Power BI.  VBA, SQL, or boutique SPM tool experience is a plus. 

  • [Required] Proven ability to work with toolsets including, but not limited to MS Project, Microsoft Excel and Access, and PowerPoint

  • [Required] Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle

Education and/or Experience:

  • [Required] Bachelor's degree with minimum of 7 years equivalent work experience

  • [Required] Experience in Project, Prioritization, and Portfolio Management

  • [Required] Ability to anticipate issues based on experience to help the team avoid or resolve the issues

  • [Preferred] Knowledge of Agile/Scrum principles and practices

Certificates or Licenses:

  • [Preferred] PMP certified preferred

Salary Range

126,600.00 - 148,800.00 - 171,100.00 USD Annual

Incentive Range

8% to 15%
