Teragonia develops Analytics Engineering and AI solutions for private equity portfolio companies and founder-owned businesses, supported by a team of technologists, data scientists, and business experts with first-hand private equity experience as investors, operators, and M&A advisors. We create bespoke ‘data-to-dollars’ value creation playbooks using Decision Intelligence Solutions (DIS) that deliver real-time, system-level insights to enhance EBITDA. We supplement the DIS with advisory services to help business leaders operationalize analytics-driven strategies and work closely with deal teams, operating partners, and management to embed analytics in strategic planning and tactical monitoring for timely course corrections.
Our core solutions are designed to support aggressive private equity investment lifecycles and span i) Infrastructure Enhancement, ii) Business Diagnostics, iii) Value Creation, and iv) Exit Prep. In each of the core solutions we leverage cutting edge tools and technology such as SQL, Python, Tableau, Power BI, Dataiku, dbt, and more to translate technical challenges into business value for our clients. We deliver value to clients across three teams: i) Value Creation & Analytics, ii) Data Science & AI, and iii) Engineering.
Job Summary
Develop Business Intelligence (BI) Solutions (60%)
Analyze business needs for our financial sponsors and develop tailored solutions, which involves:
Scope project plans to translate requirements and develop client’s BI solution analytics capabilities. Engage in data discovery and experimentation using Snowflake/DBT/Tableau to assess client's current data infrastructure and needs. Design data models and architecture supporting BI and reporting, incl implementing master data management (MDM) processes ensuring data structure and integrity. Develop data workflows and ETL applications utilizing Dataiku, Snowflake, DBT cloud, Python and SQL in client systems, and manage analytics infrastructure across client platforms. Build data visualization such as dashboards and reports for clients in tableau/tableau server to deliver key insights from the data models and algorithms developed. Create reports summarizing key findings. Collaborate with clients to understand their business objectives and challenges and develop advanced analytics strategies and solutions that will answer these needs. Collaborate with science professionals to implement artificial intelligence models such as Large Language Models (LLMs) to automate and create key insights to the business.
Client Engagement and Support (30%)
Lead value creation initiatives combining technical skills with broad business acumen, both developed based on years of experience across both technical and business focused roles. Drive change management and operational best practices to enable program success. Clearly communicate complex business applications and insights of the analysis to both technical and non-technical audiences. Lead management planning and brainstorming sessions w/clients to address future analytics needs. Provide client assistance and troubleshoot issues with the developed BI applications as necessary. Utilize Tableau to track client engagement metrics and product/service usage, evaluating satisfaction and identifying areas for enhancement or barriers to product adoption.
Innovation for new strategies/process improvement (10%)
Mentor and develop team members technical and qualitative skills. Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, technologies, data models, AI applications/market and other market opportunities to drive process and product improvement. Innovate new product prototypes and strategize roadmap for market launch. Collaborate w/data science and AI team to define new features or products. Develop business development plans to introduce new products to the market.
1. At least a Master’s in Business Analytics or similar; and
2. Three years of work experience to include the following:
- 2 years with each of Tableau, advanced data analytics (translate advanced analysis into practical business use), data management and data architecture, and SQL;
- 1 year with each of Dataiku, Snowflake, and Python;
- 1 year working with financial sponsors.
Flexible telecommuting permitted within normal commuting distance to our Dallas office.
Location of Employment: Teragonia, Inc., 8333 Douglas Avenue, Suite 340, Dallas, TX 75225. Flexible telecommuting permitted within normal commuting distance to our Dallas office. Pay range: $145,000 to $175,000 base per year.
