Manufacturing Production Process Engineering focuses on designing, developing, and implementing new or revised production processes for the efficient/economical mass production of goods including: •Designing arrangement of manufacturing equipment to ensure most efficient and productive layout •Designing the sequence of production operations, specifying procedures for the fabrication of applicable tools and equipment, and adapting machinery in response to factory conditions •Conducting tests throughout all stages of production to determine control over applicable variables and troubleshooting/solving production problems •Providing guidance to product design engineering on technical specifications that will best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques •Ensuring that production processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Execute Revalidation Assessments for all manual, semi and fully automated production processes.
  • Optimize Revalidation Assessment site guidelines.
  • Implement CFR 21 Part 11 compliance guidelines in all applicable production equipment.
  • Develop Manufacturing Capacity models to support project prioritization and capital investments.
  • Designing arrangement of manufacturing equipment to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
  • Designing the sequence of production operations, specifying procedures for the fabrication of applicable tools and equipment, and adapting machinery in response to factory conditions
  • Conducting tests throughout all stages of production to determine control over applicable variables and troubleshooting/solving production problems.
  • Providing guidance to product design engineering on technical specifications that will best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • May incorporate inspection and test requirements (Gage R&R) into the production plan.
  • Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +8 yrs; Assoc.+4 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Familiar with Window MS Office Suite. Familiar with Statistical Analysis testing (t-tests, normality test, process capability, confidence intervals, etc.).
  • Familiar with continuous improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, 5S, Lean, Kaizen, etc.)
  • Familiar with Engineering change controls, i.e., Engineering documents and procedures, equipment documentation, project deliverables, etc.
