The Events team, as part of the Communications and Thought Leadership department, plays a pivotal role in stewarding the broader Echoing Green community and the social innovation ecosystem. By seamlessly integrating storytelling elements into event planning and execution, the team crafts narratives and experiences that resonate with attendees, drives engagement and enhances brand perception. The Events team is highly collaborative to ensure that initiatives at Echoing Green are not just events but platforms for fostering connection and sharing impactful stories that reinforce the organization’s thought leadership position.
Reporting to the Manager, Events and Engagements, the Associate, Events and Engagements will support the planning and execution of virtual and in-person events and engagements across all audiences. Events at Echoing Green include the Fellowship Finalist Interviews Program, consisting of virtual workshops focused on community building and interview preparation, and concurrent multi-day virtual interviews with applicants from around the world; an annual All Fellows Convening and New Fellows Retreat that bring together the Fellow community for a week-long conference in an international or domestic city of significance; and other bespoke events including but not limited to field-building, donor stewardship and cultivation, and staff events.
This function includes event planning, project management, and administrative tasks. A successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, ready to learn, and interested in using events as an experiential storytelling vehicle for Echoing Green’s growing community. This is a great opportunity for an early career professional with a passion for process, organization, and event production.
What You’ll Do
As the Associate, Events and Engagements, you will lead key work streams that include:
Event & Planning Execution
- Serve as assistant event producer for virtual events and assist with the administration of event software such as Zoom meetings and webinars, breakout sessions and polling, and attendee registration software.
- Support coordination of event logistics for virtual and in-person events, including event scheduling, creating event invitation collateral, managing RSVPS lists, building surveys and event forms, researching vendors, and assisting with event registration.
- Plan and schedule events to promote EG network and visibility, such as dinners and receptions.
- Provide on-site assistance during events, including setup and breakdown of events, signage, packing and shipping/delivery of materials, printing name tags, interfacing with event attendees, working with vendors, and other logistics.
- Represent Echoing Green at select events with domestic and international travel (1–3 times annually)
Communication and Content Development
- Build and maintain cross-functional invitation lists to support event marketing.
- Draft and manage event-related communications (e.g., invitations, reminders, follow-ups, surveys, recordings).
- Assist with the creation and editing of event materials, including presentation decks, event briefs, and run-of-shows, ensuring brand consistency.
Operations and Administrative Support
- Manage event-related contracts, billing, and reimbursements; oversee payment processing.
- Schedule internal and external meetings/events using Outlook and coordinate related logistics.
- Book and set up meeting rooms (virtual and in-person); prepare agendas, take notes, and manage supplies.
- Maintain inventory of event collateral and ensure timely ordering of supplies.
- Monitor and respond to inquiries via shared events inboxes, providing excellent customer service.
- Support event-related project tracking using Asana across multiple teams.
- Manage and update data in Salesforce and Blackthorn, including attendance tracking, campaign setup, reporting, and event analysis.
What You’ll Bring
- Global Social Justice Orientation: Passion for and interest in Echoing Green’s mission, impact, and community. Proficiency and passion for supporting the development of events and engagements centered around promoting social justice, encompassing themes related to race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, and class with individuals and groups around the world.
- Hands-on Events Administration: Relevant event planning/production experience, both virtual and in-person. Experience with Zoom and in-person event experience is required.
- Growth Mindset: Ability to learn quickly, with willingness to sharpen skills through direct, constructive feedback.
- Operational Efficiency Focus: Utilization of proactive project management and organizational skills to ensure sustainable improvements for the long-term. Familiarity with or willingness to learn Asana, Blackthorn, and Salesforce required.
- Sharp Prioritization: Unyielding solution orientation to juggling multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective Collaboration: A collaborative approach to teamwork and project management in order to coordinate and motivate internal and external stakeholders through clear and direct written/oral communication and presentation skills.

Salary: $64,350/year

This position will also require the employee to work from our office in New York City 2 days/week, and remotely 3 days/week.
The position also requires the employee to travel for work approximately 1-2 times per year, including international travel.
