An entry-level embedded software engineer will develop, test, and debug device drivers, libraries, and application software for embedded devices and systems from requirements to production and commercial deployment. Additionally, it is expected for an embedded software engineer to interface with the hardware design and development teams to ensure seamless integration. The role is also required to write code documentations and software user-guides.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Development Skills: Proficiency in C and C++ is essential. Having knowledge in popular scripting and high-level languages is an advantage.
  • Understanding of Embedded Systems: Familiarity with microcontrollers, microprocessors, and real-time operating systems (RTOS). Having a background in FPGA and HDL is an advantage.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Capable to debug and resolve issues.
  • Communication Skills: Can communicate effectively with different team members and document technical details clearly.
  • Experience: Minimal professional experience is required. However, internships or co-op roles involving embedded systems can be advantageous.

For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. As such, applicants for this position – except US Citizens, US Permanent Residents, and protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) – may have to go through an export licensing review process.
