About the team
Payouts is a ~$1T revenue market globally as of 2024, and is expected to grow at high-single digits over the next 5 years. We are looking for an Associate Director who is ready to take the lead on ensuring our newest big bet, Virtual Cards, is a success.
What you will be doing
As an Associate Director in Worldpay’s Payouts Commercialization team, you will play a crucial role in driving the company’s global growth by commercializing our newest strategic initiative – Virtual Cards. You will work at the intersection of technical expertise and commercial acumen to drive our go-to-market efforts and enable Worldpay’s Sales teams to effectively sell this brand-new product to customers within the Travel sector initially. This position requires a strong understanding of the payments and travel industries.
What you’ll own:
Sales Enablement:
- Plan, manage and drive all sales enablement efforts both internally (e.g., streamlining boarding & conducting trainings) and externally (e.g., managing marketing and representing Worldpay at industry events)
- Develop new & creative strategies when approaching go-to-market & sales enablement
- Join strategic customer engagements to act as the Virtual Card product expert
- Enable our Sales team to effectively sell the Virtual Card product by providing technical expertise and sales support
- Develop sales collateral, training materials, provide bespoke support on deals, work on marketing & PR campaigns in partnership with Worldpay’s Marketing team
- Streamline customer onboarding processes and develop transparent, dynamic pricing strategies
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate the Sales team on the product, features and market-specific considerations
Relationship Management:
- Act as a key contributor in negotiations with new/existing partners
- Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders and partners in the Virtual Card & Travel sectors
- Collaborate with Worldpay’s Product, Vertical Growth, Sales & Partnerships teams to identify new opportunities and grow revenue for this product
- Act as a key stakeholder in discussions with Worldpay’s Finance, Legal, Compliance, Risk & Credit teams
- Represent Worldpay at industry conferences, events and meetings to promote the Virtual Card product
Strategic Planning:
- Provide business intelligence & subject-matter expertise to determine the strategic direction of the Virtual Card product
- Grow pipeline by developing sales strategies, identifying new opportunities and building target lists
- Ensure ongoing tracking and reporting of pipeline, including understanding & analyzing why deals are won & lost
- Contribute to developing dynamic & competitive pricing strategies using industry experience
Product Support:
- Contribute to improving our product offering by supporting product prioritization strategy using subject-matter expertise
- Gather customer & Sales team feedback on the product and share this back to Worldpay’s Product team
- Work closely with Product & Sales to define technical roadmaps and ensure open communication with Sales on roadmaps & strategy
Market Analysis:
- Identify, research and evaluate new business opportunities and market initiatives in the Virtual Card space
- Bring expertise & act as a key contributor in producing recommendations to the business
- Identify market trends, regulatory landscapes and competitive landscapes to inform strategic decision-making
- Conduct thorough research and analysis of potential feature enhancements and market expansion of Worldpay’s Virtual Card product
- Evaluate market readiness and potential demand for Worldpay’s Virtual Card product in new target markets & verticals
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, computer science or information systems or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience
- Thorough knowledge of Virtual Card Issuing and/or the travel industry
- Proven experience (6+ years) in a similar role, preferably in the payment or travel industry
- Strong understanding of the global payments landscape
- Technical proficiency and ability to understand complex technical concepts and product functionalities
- Demonstrated ability to balance technical and commercial considerations when making strategic decisions
- Experience in conducting market research, competitor analysis, and evaluating new market opportunities
- Excellent project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering projects on time
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and results-driven approach
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional and fast-paced environment
