The Associate Director of Mid-Level Giving works closely with the Director of Mid-Level Giving to lead the program for members giving $1,000-4,999 annually, including solicitation planning and strategy, stewardship and data analysis. Reporting directly to the Directorthis position manages a Mid-Level Giving Manager and three Mid-Level Giving Officers, as well as collaborating within the larger Membership team and cross-functionally with the Development team. The ideal candidate will have experience leading high-performing fundraising teams, planning fundraising campaigns, creating communications strategy and implementing stewardship. A focus on big picture strategies, attention to detail, strong project management skills, and experience with CRM systems and databases are key qualities for this position. Familiarity with major gifts programs, public media fundraising and/or accounting skills also highly desirable.

This role will work hybrid between working in KQED's newly renovated headquarters and working remotely. KQED requires employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Salary Information: $114,600-$143,200 Annually
Essential Functions:

  • Manage staff, providing consistent oversight and mentorship. Ensure staff management meets high standards.
     
    • Manage three Mid-Level Giving Officers, ensuring their adherence to best practices in cultivation, stewardship and solicitation of their portfolios.
    • Analyze Officers’ portfolio data, ensuring and assisting their progress towards achieving goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
    • Supervise Mid-Level Giving Manager, providing guidance and oversight as they work to accomplish team objectives, specifically in donor communications and non-portfolio cultivation and solicitation.
       
  • Ensure donor communications, outreach and events are frequent, accurate and inspirational.
     
  • Ensure healthy pipeline of members upgrading into the major giving program. Collaborate with major giving program to share tactics and refine processes.
     
  • Working closely with the Mid-Level Giving Director, develop and implement analysis on financial trends and key performance indicators (KPIs); be data-driven in decision making to continuously strengthen relationships and increase revenue.
     
  • Collaborate within the Membership team, as well as across the organization with Development, Audience Development, Marketing & Communications, Events and others to strengthen the organization and remove silos.
     
  • Monitor public media giving trends and attend webinars, educational sessions on fundraising, or conferences to identify effective new fundraising approaches and solutions.
     
  • Other essential duties as required.

Knowledge/Qualifications: 

  • 1-2 years of experience as a people manager
  • Minimum of four years experience in fundraising/development in the annual fund or major gift area.
  • Proven track record of meeting revenue goals and setting budgets.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and database management; experience with Salesforce, Marketing Cloud and/or Revolution Online (ROI) preferred.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with excellent attention to detail, copy editing and experience writing in multiple “voices”.
  •  The individual should be energetic, self-directed and assertive, and also flexible, creative and understanding.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills must be at the highest possible level.
