Currently, we are seeking an Associate Design Manager.

The Associate Design Manager has a hybrid role of 60-70% allocation in overseeing and executing design projects from concept through completion as a design lead and 20-30% for team and admin support to the Design Manager. 

This role combines creative expertise, project management, and team coordination to ensure that all design work meets quality, timeline, and brand standards. The Associate Design Manager works collaboratively with designers, product teams, and other departments, making sure the design process flows smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Coordination and Support
    • Assist in planning, prioritizing, and tracking design tasks across the team.
    • Manage project timelines, deliverables, and budgets to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to gather project requirements and provide regular updates on progress.
  2. Design Quality and Execution
    • Oversee design concepts, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and project objectives.
    • Review design drafts and provide constructive feedback to ensure consistency and quality.
    • Conduct design reviews and facilitate approvals, ensuring all deliverables meet standards.
  3. Sales Support and Estimation Creation
    • Partner with the sales team to understand client needs and support proposal development.
    • Create accurate project estimates by defining timelines, deliverables, resources, and costs.
    • Participate in client calls and presentations, addressing design requirements and explaining estimates to provide a clear understanding of project scope.
    • Help refine proposal details, ensuring realistic timelines and budgets are communicated.
  4. Team Mentorship and Development
    • Mentor junior designers, providing feedback on projects and supporting professional development.
    • Assist in onboarding new team members, introducing them to design tools, processes, and brand standards.
    • Act as a primary contact for team questions and escalate issues to the Design Manager as needed.
  5. Client and Stakeholder Communication
    • Assist in presenting design concepts and deliverables to clients, gathering feedback to refine work as needed.
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, ensuring alignment on design objectives and timelines.
  6. Process Improvement
    • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline workflows and improve team efficiency.
    • Stay current with industry trends, design tools, and best practices to integrate innovative ideas into the team’s processes.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in design, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or coordination role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Sketch, or similar tools.
  • Portfolio: A robust portfolio showcasing experience in diverse design projects, demonstrating technical skill, creativity, and an understanding of design principles.
  • Soft Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills; excellent verbal and written communication; ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Additional Skills: Knowledge of project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Trello, etc) is preferred; familiarity with design principles and a strong UX/UI design background is a must.
