The Associate Dean of Students oversees the development and implementation of co-curricular engagement and learning experiences. This position supervises Student Transitions and Family Programs, Community Standards, the Assistant Director of Student Engagement, and the CARE Case Manager. The Associate Dean of Students curates high-impact student engagement experiences, including student involvement, leadership development, and first year experience. The position is supervised by the AVP / Dean of Students and serves as a member of the Student Affairs leadership team.
Key Outcomes
45 % of Time: Student Engagement and Experience

Supervise the Director of Student Transitions and Family programs, including overseeing the development of a comprehensive first year experience and student onboarding process.

Supervise the Assistant Director of Student Engagement and cultivate student involvement and leadership opportunities including the Involvement Fair, Spring Week, oversight of Clubs & Organizations, and student leadership training.

Identity and implement new high-impact student engagement and involvement opportunities.

Partner with Academic Affairs to assess and implement current and new Living-Learning communities, including coordination of LLC faculty.

Serve as the advisor to Student Government Association.

Assess and market the Endicott College student co-curricular experience.
30 % of Time: CARE, Conduct, and Student Support

Serve on the CARE team and coordinate CARE data and metrics.

Supervise the Director of Community Standards and serve as a conduct hearing appeals officer.

Supervise the CARE Case Manager and provide support and direction in management of mild to moderate students of concern cases.

Train community members about CARE reporting and intervention strategies.

Serve on the Dean on-call rotation, providing support to the Administrator on call rotation.
25 % of Time: Leadership and Administration

Foster collaboration across Student Affairs departments to create and implement student experience programs and initiatives including: Orientation, first year experience, the involvement fair, the community service expo, clubs and organizations, student leadership, and newly created initiatives.

Assist the AVP / Dean of Students in coordinating and offering professional staff training and coordination of Student Affairs.

Lead data and metrics collection and reporting processes for Student Affairs.

Liaise with faculty and academic affairs on offering co-curricular student experiences.

Perform other duties as needed, including leading Student Affairs in the absence of the AVP / Dean of Students.
Job Qualifications

Possess academic credentials and experience suitable to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the position with a Master’s degree in a related field, required.

A minimum of 6 - 8 years’ experience as a hearing officer with broad skills as an educator within a higher education context.

Knowledge of higher education principles, practices and procedures and best practices in student affairs.

Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
