Who You’ll Work With
The Communications team strengthens and leverages the Echoing Green brand to support Fellows, attract new talent, and elevate the broader social innovation field. To do this, we make the most of our team’s multidisciplinary talents spanning writing, design, digital communications, and video. In addition to stewarding Echoing Green’s overarching brand and communications channels, we serve as thought partners to our colleagues across other teams as they provide consistent, timely, and compelling communications directly to our Fellows, funders, and field partners.
Although this position will be based at the Echoing Green office in New York, they will join a hybrid team with two Communications colleagues on the West Coast and two based in New York.
What You’ll Do
As the Associate, Communications, you’ll play an integral role in our team’s success as a project manager, content creator, and individual contributor. Reporting to the Manager, Communications, and working closely with the Senior Associate, Digital Communications, you’ll have a line of sight to everything that goes into our communications work – from high level strategy to tactical execution.
In this role, you will:
- Draft and edit content for blog posts, email newsletters, social media, reports, and event materials.
- Help keep the team’s content calendar and project trackers organized and up-to-date.
- Support email campaigns by drafting copy, updating contact lists, scheduling sends, and tracking results.
- Assist with social media by drafting posts, scheduling content, and responding to comments or messages.
- Make updates to the website and communication materials, working with designers or developers when needed.
- Monitor news and updates from Fellows and the social impact space to share with the team and inform content.
- Help coordinate communications for events, outreach efforts, and Fellow-related activities in partnership with other teams.
- Maintain shared tools like writing guides, brand templates, and other resources used across the organization.
- Participate in meetings by helping with agenda prep, note-taking, and tracking follow-up items.
What You’ll Bring
- A Foundation to Build Upon: Relevant internship or professional experience in a communications role, ideally in a non-profit, agency, or mission-driven organization.
- A Way with Words: Demonstrated experience writing and editing content that distills complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with varied audiences.
- Adaptable Project Management: Comfort juggling competing priorities and, equally important, helping others do the same to keep projects on track.
- Digital Literacy: Comfort with digital communications channels, including social media, email marketing, and website content.

Base Salary: $64,350/year
Echoing Green offers a comprehensive benefits package to support your well-being and growth, including:

This position will also require the employee to work from our office in New York City 2 days/week, and remotely 3 days/week.
The position also requires the employee to travel for work approximately 1-2 times per year, including international travel.
