Intro:
The Business Development Director (BDD) reports to Head of Sales EMEA, Funds and Capital Markets (FCM) and will collaborate with colleagues across the FCM division to drive new revenue growth across FCM's jurisdictions. The BDD must possess in-depth knowledge of Funds and/or Capital Markets and demonstrate the ability to promote FCM's full suite of products and services (see below). Operating with significant autonomy, the BDD will engage in a variety of opportunities to support the business's ongoing organic growth, address evolving client needs, and comply with regulatory requirements. While expected to function as a proactive self-starter, the BDD will also benefit from working within a supportive and collaborative team environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to FCM's growth and success in a dynamic and evolving industry.

  • Loan agency and successor trustee services for distressed transactions and restructurings
  • Custody services for alternative asset classes, including carbon credits


Some of the things you will be doing:

  • Revenue Growth: Proactively drive new business revenue through direct origination of opportunities.
  • Network Development: Build and maintain a robust network of external business referrers.
  • Sales Planning: Create and execute sales and calling plans in coordination with peers and colleagues to ensure alignment and efficiency.
  • Client Support: Assist in other jurisdictions as needed to support business objectives.
  • Materials Preparation: Develop quotations, presentations, and other business development-related materials to support new opportunities.
  • Representation: Represent FCM at external meetings, industry forums, conferences, and seminars.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct deal-by-deal risk assessments for new business opportunities.
  • Strategic Contribution: Shape FCM's commercial strategy to accelerate revenue growth and expand the product suite.
  • Product Development: Advance the development of emerging products, such as loan agency, loan administration, project finance, and restructuring services.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor and interpret market trends to help guide FCM's strategic direction.
  • Relationship Management: Build and nurture key relationships within FCM and the broader CSC Group.
  • Process Facilitation: Liaise with internal and external teams to support compliance onboarding, transaction management, client teams, and finance processes.
  • Client Engagement: Improve client responsiveness through proactive follow-ups, email and call management, and regular engagement.
  • Operational Updates: Organize and manage operational and strategic business updates with business partners and clients to enhance efficiency and maintain communication rhythm.
  • Issue Resolution: Address day-to-day operational issues promptly.
  • Deal Facilitation: Work closely with transaction management teams to facilitate deal closings and manage post-deal relationships effectively.


What technical skills, experience, and qualifications do you need:

  • Proven expertise in Funds and/or Capital Markets.
  • Strong sales and business development acumen.
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities.
  • Proficiency in preparing business materials and conducting risk assessments.
  • In-depth understanding of market trends and strategic foresight.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and fostering client and partner relationships.
  • Ability to adapt to changing regulatory and client needs.
