We are seeking a Facilities Assistant Project Manager with a proven track record of supporting a portfolio of assigned projects to completion ahead of schedule and under budget. As a Facilities Assistant Project Manager you will be supporting for the planning, design, and execution of capital infrastructure projects supporting critical building operations and manufacturing processes across the Austin Business center. The Facilities Assistant Project Manager coordinates with construction contractors to carry out a variety of projects related to new construction, renovations, specialty equipment installation, and facility infrastructure improvements.   • Assist in developing and managing the scope, budget, design and schedule of multiple plant rearrangement and production equipment installation projects, from cradle to grave. Responsibilities include assisting in project planning, design, bidding work to general contractors, building/executing and closing out the project. Projects can range from $5,000 to over $15 million.
  • Review design packages with project manager, including engineering plans and specifications.
  • Assist project managers collecting data and surveying existing areas, formulating design specifications, obtaining management acceptance, and developing a completely engineered design package for contractor bidding.
  • Assist in managing financial budgets and track costs as they are incurred throughout the project lifecycle. Help project manager provide accurate and timely cost and schedule tracking to all project stakeholders.
  • On occasion, assist in conducting major facility studies covering such recurring subjects as five (5) year plans, total energy generation, facility containment/contingency programs, building management systems, major material and vendor studies, etc.
  • Oversee execution of contractors and subcontractors scopes of work for quality, adherence to plans and specifications, and compliance with all federal, state and applicable local codes such as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), etc.
  • Perform administrative duties including purchase requisitions, change orders, contractor badge requests, escort requests, closeout docs, etc.
  • Track contractors in "Can Qualify" to ensure contractors arriving on site are registered in the "Can Qualify" database.
  • Coordinate with Plant Engineering management on behalf of the project manager to schedule fire protection impairments, fire panel impairments, electrical panel locations requests, utility shutdowns, crane lifts, site communications, etc.
  • Assist in providing detailed closure to projects (ie driving punch lists to completion, asset identification, submitting changes to electrical distribution, collection of closeout docs including O&M manuals, as builts, etc).
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested.

Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Early career or recent graduates of project management, engineering, or construction related degree disciplines.
  • 2 years of experience in construction related trade discipline.
  • Ability to multi-task many different assignments and prioritize accordingly.
  • Communication skills (Verbal, Written, Electronic, Various Technologies)


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Working knowledge of building systems and infrastructure including HVAC systems, electrical distribution systems, process gasses, supporting electronics manufacturing environments.
  • Understanding of building codes including life safety, NFPA, and local AHJ requirements.
  • Familiarity with construction management software solutions. i.e. Procore, Newforma, MS Project, Tririga, etc.


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $77809 - $132275
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
