Purpose of the Job:
The Assistant Procurement Manager, SRM is accountable to define and implement procurement strategy for SRM in specific area of responsibility, which meets current and future business needs. Analyze market and supply chain, negotiate contract terms, understand and manage risk and supplier performance and relationship management, to achieve the most competitive terms including price, quality, on-time delivery. Ensure holistic sustainable supply to ensure business & plant continuity.
Main Accountabilities:

Responsible for buying and sourcing of assigned SRM from both locally and overseas. This shall include develop and conduct sourcing strategies by analyzing the market for specific product areas to understand the supply chain, using a variety of sources such as supplier meetings, internet, market reports, external sources. Maintain up-to-date understanding of supply/demand balance in the regional/global markets for the assigned products.

Negotiate pricing, commercial terms with local and overseas SRM suppliers. Develop and execute negotiation strategies for pricing with suppliers in line with market conditions as determined by market analysis. Evaluate and monitor agreed contract prices to ensure price is right dependent on changing market conditions. Agree targets for cost reduction for spend category and implement plans to achieve the targets.

Carry out market analysis for the assigned spend categories/SKU and maintain up to date documented knowledge.

Executive Supplier Management Program to ensure compliance to Regulatory and Quality System (ISO 9000) requirements and delivered benefits to the businesses. As part of the Supplier Management Program, Supplier Audit shall be carried out on annually basis.

Undertake/support risk management for critical suppliers/products, assess risks based on supply shortages or limited sources and ensure plans in place for alternatives. Work in conjunction with technical/production teams when assessing and implementing alternatives.

As part of the Direct Procurement team supporting the delivery of sourcing and category strategy and supporting Global Category Leads to ensure SRM spend is managed.

Work with Centre of Excellence team to ensure the data and information requirement are maintained and up-to-date including driving process improvement.

Undertake the operational (transactional) procurement activities (requisition, PO creation, invoice query resolution, master data in conjunction with the systems and process team) as required.
Requirements:

Degree/Master qualified in Chemical / Polymer science, CIPS or Similar & Technical Background advantageous.

Min 5 years in of relevant work experience in Chemical/Petrochemical or Coating industry

Knowledge of SAP S4 HANA MM and SAP Ariba experience preferred.

Transactional procurement / Process optimization experience advantage
