Job Description
Your TeamThe Global Legal Support Team (GLST) provides comprehensive support to Invesco’s in-house attorneys in North America, EMEA and APAC. The GLST consists of associates in several cities in the United States and Canada, as well as in Hyderabad. The in-house attorneys are co-located in many of these areas, but also in the UK, France, Hong Kong and other locations. The GLST supports the legal needs of virtually all aspects of Invesco’s business operations throughout the world, and our support is ever-expanding.Your RoleThe Assistant Manager will manage a team of 5-7 legal analysts working out of our Hyderabad office. The Assistant Manager will also be expected to lead one or two of our Practice Areas, which are teams organized around Invesco’s discreet businesses. The Practice Area teams will consist of direct reports and associates reporting to other managers. The Practice Area teams are blended with legal analysts and paralegals from the US, Canada and Hyderabad. The Practice Area teams deploy a “player/coach” model for the Assistant Managers; the Assistant Managers have individual contributor responsibilities for their teams.You Will Be Responsible For:
- Supervise and contribute to legal work from/with in-house attorneys, including but not limited to:
- Drafting, summarizing, and negotiating various agreements and amendments, including software licenses, SaaS/cloud agreements, vendor agreements, partner agreements, confidentiality/non-disclosure and professional services agreements
- Preparing offering documents of various regulated investment products
- Conducting legal research, and
- Supporting the firm’s corporate governance processes.
- Manage your teams in word and deed in accordance with Invesco’s “Way We Work” principles and practices and the Legal Department’s business objectives to promote strategically aligned performance and work/life balance.
- Facilitate partnership within the Americas, EMEA and APAC Legal Teams with daily interactions at many different levels in all regions.
- Learn processes quickly and be able to transfer knowledge / train team members when the need arises.
- Conduct regular One-On-One discussions with all team members and Quarterly Performance Reviews with direct reports to optimize performance, support and align proper career pathing, and retain talent.
- Working timing will be generally be from 12.30 pm to 09.30pm IST, with possible 1 hour adjustments for daylight savings transitions.
The Experience You Bring:
- 7-10 years of legal work experience, preferably with an investment advisor or mutual fund group in legal or other regulatory environment.
- 3 years of people management experience is preferable.
- Working knowledge of back-office operations and securities laws/regulations will be a plus.
- Bachelor of Laws degree or higher legal education
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and strong analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Shall be a good team player
- Proficiency on MS Office suite of applications
