Get to know our Team:
- Grab’s lending business (GFSA – Grab Financial Services Asia) is a recent addition to Grab that focuses on extension of micro credit to the under-served community with respect to financial services. GFSA team is a combination of strong talent pool in its Regional Hub (Singapore) and deep local market operators across its focus markets.

GFSA team is responsible for end-to-end conceptualization, design, development, execution and ongoing management of all lending activities in its focus markets and segments.
- The Country Credit team is responsible for setting up and executing the credit risk management policies and procedures while working closely with the Country Head, and Regional Credit Risk team to assist in shaping the use of data and technology in risk management methodologies.
- The individual joining the Country Credit team will have the unique opportunity to rapidly grow professionally as the team embarks on this new journey across all aspects of the credit risk.
Get to know the Role:
- Taking lead in developing an end to end robust credit framework and guidelines for management of the Driver and Consumer Segment and formulate the policy along with the regional credit team.
- Manage credit risk operations for the Driver and Consumer segment
- Generate a credit whitelist using alternative data within or outside GRAB eco-system and determine the viability to be included into the credit model in view of complexity and dynamics of MEX segment.
- Establish a Driver and Consumer credit model, uncover insights and identify targeted areas for improvements and liase with the lending unit and collections to further optimise the lending portfolio.
- Work with external vendor or agencies such as RAMCI, Experian and etc to improve the credit processes
- Monitor credit performance to identify underwriting weaknesses for pivoting to new and innovative credit underwriting methods for business growth.
- Coordinate with the lending and collection unit in development and implementation of data collection, data analytics and other strategies to analyze statistical efficiency and guide decision-making.
- Work with lending unit, data analytics, collections and finance teams to formulate the country’s credit policy, collection strategy and maximum return while minimising credit loss.
- Assist in designing and implementation of reports and performance measurement dashboards for senior management with the relevant insights to enable senior management to make an informed decision.
- Mentoring junior credit risk analysts in portfolio management.
Qualifications
The must haves:
- A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Risk Management, or relevant background.
- Minimum 5 + years relevant work experience in credit policy, credit analytics.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize and analyze significant amount of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
- Self-motivated and independent learner who is willing to share knowledge with the team
- Detail-oriented and efficient time manager who thrives in a dynamic and dynamic working environment
- Technical expertise regarding data models, data mining and segmentation techniques.
- Ability to conceptualize and execute credit scoring using non-conventional alternative data.
Good to have:
- Foundation in data query/manipulation using SQL and data visualization using tools like Tableau
- Programming languages like SAS, R, Python, SPSS, Matlab or other tools for statistical analysis
- Master's degree in a quantitative field.
