The Communications Team is responsible for upholding the company’s reputation and driving the company’s narratives with the objectives of increasing positive conversation, engagement, and sentiments toward the company. Whether speaking to media and online influencers, industry commentators, or the wider community, the Communications Team is the voice and gatekeeper of Grab.


As a strategic partner to various business functions in Grab, the Communications Team helps to drive their business objectives by ensuring that both internal and external stakeholders understand and support Grab’s vision and business strategy, including but not limited to corporate partnerships, new products, partner programs, marketing campaigns, and internal programs.
Get to know the Role
You will be responsible for planning, coordinate, and execute communications campaigns aligned with company-wide objectives, budget management, and target tracking. To excel in this role, you need to be:

  • Agile and, self-motivated, capable of thriving in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

  • Possess strong critical thinking with the ability to digest information from multi-stakeholders (both internal and external) and the role of Communications in addressing them

  • Effective in collaborative and independent work, with full accountability with the tasks given

  • Skilled in task prioritization

The Day-to-Day Activities

  • Create, execute, and manage communication plans and its budget allocation, in close coordination with the supervisor.

  • Effectively manage the communications needs of different business units and identify possible support provided by the Comms Team.

  • Oversee the agencies to ensure each agency’s deliverables are aligned with the predetermined objectives and KPIs.

  • Create content such as press releases, briefing books, speech, storylines, media’s response sheets, etc.

  • Identify and assess speaking opportunities requests for leaders and other Grabbers.

  • Involve in issue and crisis management.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with the most influential media and influencers in Indonesia.

  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. agencies) for administrative-related matters.

Qualifications

The Must-Haves

  • Proficient critical thinking and implement it in every communications recommendations and collateral.

  • Strong writing and story-telling skills.

  • Possess strong existing relationships with a diverse range of tier-1 media’s senior reporters and influencers.

  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams including social media, legal, product, marketing, and partnership teams.

  • Excellent command of Indonesian and English (written and spoken).

  • Experience in public relations and digital PR; in an agency preferred.

  • Experience working in a fast-growth company.

  • A collaborative self-starter who can work independently, hands-on team player, and self-motivated.

  • A creative flair and curiosity to push new ideas.

  • Years of experience 5-7 years.
