THE JOB:

Salt & Ivy Café and Patio Bar is seeking a talented and dynamic Assistant General Manager to join our team! In this role, you’ll work closely with the General Manager to provide direction and leadership to the Assistant Manager and Restaurant Service team, ensuring alignment with the MGM brand. Together, you’ll lead the team to achieve operational and financial goals, oversee staff performance and training, execute F&B initiatives, and maintain the highest standards of service and guest satisfaction. Salt & Ivy offers a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere with indoor and outdoor dining options, making it the perfect setting to create exceptional guest experiences every day.


THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Lead and manage daily restaurant operations, fiscal budgets, labor productivity, scheduling, inventory control, guest service standards, and execution of marketing strategies to produce short-term profitability

  • Execute on the restaurant’s business plan and assist General Manager with developing and executing tactics to achieve goals and targets

  • Responsible for execution of policies, operating procedures, training programs, directives, menus, rules and regulations for the restaurant staff

  • Maintain the highest standards of health, sanitation and cleanliness within all areas of Beverage

  • Assist General Manager with managing Human Resources responsibilities for Restaurant to include: creating a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback (coaching and counseling), recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction; quality hiring, training and succession planning process that encompass the company’s diversity commitment; adherence to the company’s status quo third party representation philosophy; compliance with company policies, legal requirements, employment law, and collective bargaining agreements

  • Interacts with guests frequently to ensure satisfaction and enjoyment of dining experience

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Minimum of two years experience in a high-volume restaurant or previous experience in a luxury or fine-dining establishment

  • At least two years of leadership experience in roles such as an Assistant Manager, Assistant General Manager, General Manager in a casual or fine dining setting

  • Previous experience managing employees under a collective bargaining agreement

  • Background in coffeehouse operations or barista expertise, with knowledge of specialty coffee

  • Comprehensive understanding of health and safety regulations.

  • Working knowledge of Point of Sale (POS) systems and their operations

  • Strong ability to implement staffing guidelines that optimize efficiency while controlling labor costs

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience

  • Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
