Job Summary:

Pets Best is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to manage legal matters for assigned areas of responsibility for the organization. Identifies legal issues which could affect the company, advises internal clients of potential impact, and recommends legal strategies and solutions to mitigate risk and ensures compliance with applicable laws

Job Location: Remote

Main Responsibilities:

• Performs factual and legal research and analysis. Provides guidance and correspondence regarding the same.

• Prepares, drafts, reviews, and amends legal documents/contracts originating from internal clients, external partners, and regulatory agencies. Ensures clarity, consistency, and uniformity with applicable laws and company policies.

• Reviews proposed and existing legislation, results, and regulations for assigned areas of responsibility and provides guidance to internal clients.

• Works collaboratively and communicates effectively with internal clients and peers on key business issues, projects, and/or matters of interest to the organization.

• Represents and advocates for the organization in its interactions with external parties.

• Significant responsibility for management of internal clients and projects.

• High level of decision-making authority on most contracts, projects, and issues; ability to assess business vs legal risk.

• Demonstrates critical and strategic thinking.

• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 7 years’ legal, and/or relevant experience

• Education: Law Degree from an accredited law school

• Licensing/Certifications: Bar admission in at least one state
