This candidate will report to the General Counsel and be an integral member of the legal team responsible for the day-to-day legal work for contract drafting and negotiation for the company's three customer segments and the procurement organization.

The ideal candidate will have law firm and/or in-house experience in drafting and negotiating a wide variety of customer-facing and procurement agreements and working with clients in the pharmaceutical industry. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable of laws and regulations applicable to the industry, and should be able to apply such laws, regulations and standards to inform business activities. Experience negotiating contracts for a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) is preferred.

The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 12-15 years of experience.

Essential Functions

  • Provide direct legal support for negotiating the company’s customer-facing contracts and procurement contracts.
  • Review and/or revise contract playbooks and support various the company’s contract lifecycle management processes.
  • Work with and supervise outside counsel on legal matters as appropriate.
  • Provide well‐reasoned and practical legal advice and counsel in a timely fashion.

Qualifications

  • JD degree from a nationally recognized law school
  • Admitted to the Bar of at least one state and eligible for admission as in-house counsel.

Work Experience

  • 12-15 years or more of legal experience as a commercial attorney with pharmaceutical experience. Experience with CDMO contracts is preferred.

  • Must possess excellent legal judgment and business acumen.
  • Must be able to work comfortably in an intense, fast-paced environment, must be responsive to the needs of his/her business partners, have a high energy level, be hands-on, and have the judgment/confidence to be able to execute under pressure in a timely way.
  • Must demonstrate gravitas and excellent communication skills necessary to engender the confidence of the members of senior management.
  • Must inspire confidence through the strength of his or her intellect, judgment, leadership style, and ability to manage interpersonal relationships at all levels.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work effectively with senior management, and collaboratively with other corporate functions, including Finance, HR, IT and Operations.
  • Must possess excellent organizational, project management and technological skills.
