Job Description:
The Temporary Assistant Director for Student Accounts will support both the Director of Student Accounts and the Associate Director of Operations in managing the technology, systems, and operations related to student account functions. This role will assist in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial data within student ERP systems such as Ellucian, Colleague, PowerCampus, and Workday. Responsibilities include supporting billing processes, data integrity checks, Informer reporting, communications management, web presence updates, and payment gateway operations. Additionally, the Temporary Assistant will help streamline business processes, ensure compliance with institutional policies, and facilitate smooth financial transactions for students.
Working under the guidance of both directors, this position will also assist in handling student receivables, including tuition, fees, and other institutional funds such as donations and auxiliary income. The Temporary Assistant will provide administrative and technical support for financial reporting, reconciliation processes, and compliance with state and federal regulations. They will also help communicate financial obligations to students and families, supporting efforts to improve student retention and customer service within the Student Accounts Office.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for scheduled data accuracy testing and quality control reporting to ensure proper billing and revenue classification.

Responsible for health insurance waiver process including incoming and outgoing data, charge adjustments.

Responsible for Student Computer Support Center technology fee charges/reporting/reconciliation (major bundle, laptop/software, etc.)

Responsible for financial aid transmittal posting and reporting.

Responsible for miscellaneous tuition and housing adjustments, waivers/remissions.

Review past due account reports for accuracy

Work with partner offices on fixing data issues that connect to billing.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Bachelor Degree required or at least 5 years experience in a Student Accounts Office or finance office within a Non-Profit type company.

Experience with college-based computerized systems and interpreting computer output, this includes strong database skills for use with Workday/Colleague/PowerCampus or similar higher ed student AR system.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

Strong computer skills including but not limited to: Ellucian Colleague/PowerCampus and/or similar Enterprise systems; Advanced querying skills; Apple OS X operating systems, Microsoft office software (strong in Excel); spreadsheet software, Filemaker, and word processing software; ability to adapt computer skills to new computer systems.

Strong background in higher education computer systems and software applications.

Basic understanding of general accounting principles, collection and cash management procedures.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Works quickly and accurately with minimal supervision.

Strong verbal, written and general knowledge of accounting with experience interpreting accounting entries.

Strong administrative skills in the areas of policy development and implementation.

The ability to articulate, disseminate and document verbal and written communication to students, families and administrators.
