JOB SUMMARY:
As a key member of our finance team, the Assistant Controller will work closely with the Vice President of Corporate Controller to oversee the company’s accounting operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This role will involve managing a team of accounting professionals, overseeing the month-end and year-end close processes, and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting while maintaining strong internal controls.
The ideal candidate will have a sharp analytical mindset, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. In addition to overseeing financial reporting, the Assistant Controller will also contribute to budget management, financial analysis, and cross-departmental collaboration to support the achievement of company goals.

This position will be located at our global headquarters in Bothell, Washington.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the daily operations of the U.S. core accounting department, including general ledger, sales and use tax, fixed assets, intercompany eliminations, and payroll accounting ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and company policies.
- Manage the ongoing compliance of lease accounting standards, including IFRS 16.
- Oversee month, quarter, and year-end close processes for multiple U.S. locations to meet established HQ and management deadlines.
- Prepare, review, and/or approve journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Review and analyze financial statements for discrepancies and variances, collaborating with other departments to confirm the accuracy and completeness of reporting.
- Prepare complete and accurate financial statement reports and accompanying disclosures in accordance with IFRS regulations and AGC internal guidelines.
- Monitor and interpret new accounting standards and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and implementation across the US locations.
- Coordinate and manage the internal and external audit processes within established timelines.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with J-SOX and regulatory requirements.
- Lead process improvement initiatives, streamline procedures, and enhance efficiency within the finance function.
- Oversee the preparation of supporting schedules utilized by AGC America for the US tax return and property tax renditions, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Assist the VP, Corporate Treasurer, and VP, Corporate Controller in approving and releasing wires and ACH’s transactions for the organization.
- Supervise and mentor a team of financial professionals, guiding day-to-day activities and career development.
- Stay updated on industry developments and changes in accounting standards.
- Provide financial analysis and support to management and other stakeholders as needed.
- Assist management with the design and implementation of accounting software and ERP systems.
- Support the VP, Corporate Controller, and the finance organization in special projects and initiatives as needed.
- Complete other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including IFRS and US GAAP
- Experience with SEC reporting preferred (for publicly traded companies)
- Proficiency in accounting ERP systems and MS Office, with advanced Excel skills
Preferred:
- CPA certification
- Microsoft Dynamics AX or 365 experience
COMPENSATION
$124,320 – $170,940
