Resource Innovations is seeking an Assistant Controller to join our growing team. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Controller with a strong background in Accounting and Financial Reporting to join our dynamic team. As an Assistant Controller, you will support the VP, Accounting in overseeing and managing the financial operations of the company. This role involves ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, assisting in budgeting, and maintaining the integrity of financial processes. The Assistant Controller also plays a key role in managing audits, internal controls, and the preparation of financial statements.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Accounting Operations: Support the daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.
- Internal Controls: Ensure the establishment and enforcement of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Audit Support: Work with external auditors during the annual audit process, ensuring that all necessary documentation and information are provided.
- Compliance: Monitor compliance with accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS), tax regulations, and other relevant financial reporting requirements.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements to streamline financial operations and enhance the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting.
- Supervision & Training: Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and training as needed to maintain high standards of financial accuracy.
- Tax Compliance: Assist in ensuring the timely filing of corporate taxes and adherence to local, state, and federal tax regulations.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to support management in decision-making, including profitability analysis, cost management, and financial planning.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, Big 4 required).
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on financial reporting, accounting processes, and internal controls. Experience in managing audits is a plus.
- Interest in sustainability and passionate about making a meaningful impact on the environment.
Preferred skills, education and experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS).
- Proficiency in accounting software (Oracle preferred).
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, macros, and data analysis).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The compensation range for this exempt position is $109,118 - $190,000. The stated range is based on a good faith estimate of the compensation range for the duties, responsibilities and skills / experience required for the position. Starting pay will be dependent on experience and internal equity. This range may be exceeded for well-qualified candidates, especially with industry experience.
