Are you looking for an unique opportunity to advance your in depth knowledge of asset management and contribute to a growing international business in a fast paced and innovative environment? This is the right role for you if you want to work with local stakeholders as well as regional team on achieving the strategic goals for the Hong Kong Service Delivery team.
As a Transfer Agency Associate working in the APAC Asset Management Operations team, you will be part of a team of highly effective finance professionals within our J.P. Morgan Asset Management Hong Kong business. You will be responsible for the end-to-end implementation of Transfer Agency strategic initiatives and projects that support our growth in the region, in addition you will learn and develop your skills handling the oversight and governance process across on our Key Transfer Agency vendors for the Hong Kong business. Interaction with internal global partners (e.g., product teams, operations, client service) as well as external client service providers (e.g., Transfer Agents) is required. You will spearhead the implementation of projects that impact the existing operating model.
In this role, you will demonstrate a strong foundation in project management, process improvement, problem-solving, and communication. You must be adept at working both independently and within a team environment and be flexible enough to adapt to rapidly changing business needs. This is not merely an oversight role; it requires a hands-on approach to drafting project plans and updating Risks, Actions/Assumptions, Issues, and Decisions/Dependencies (RAID) logs, setting a strong example for the team. Key to your success will be both your technical skills and the ability to engage effectively with key stakeholders within Hong Kong as well as across the overall APAC Operations organization.
Job responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product teams, Operations, Product Development, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Controls to design and implement solutions for new business opportunities and complex events impacting existing operating models.
  • Execute established project plans, on-boarding checklists, and account setup requirements to ensure timely execution of key deliverables.
  • Manage issues effectively, ensuring timely resolution of key roadblocks and escalating where appropriate, and ensure close collaboration with our Client Service teams, Trustees, Compliance, Legal and various Internal teams
  • Liaise with our Transfer Agents, as appropriate, for successful delivery of the initiative.
  • Provide oversight on services delivered by our outsourced Transfer Agent vendor in Hong Kong as well as managing various regulatory reporting tasks, product and fund life cycle events, offshored processes, Tax Reporting including FATCA and CRS.
  • Engage in communicating with stakeholder and proactive relationship management with internal and/or external parties and influence and drive change incorporating business and client requirement
  • Learn automation utilizing various tools to enhance operational efficiency
  • Assist in root cause analysis and deep dives to improve client experience and remove operational roadblocks
  • Monitor market developments in different markets and understand how regulations impact operational processes and the funds
  • Adhere to the oversight and governance framework by updating policies and procedures to comply with local regulations and implementing and monitoring internal controls to ensure compliance
  • Review operational processes to identify areas for enhancement and identify and escalate key risks and participate in resolution


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree holder in Business, Accounting, Finance, or other related disciplines
  • At least 3 years' experience in financial services industry
  • Proven high performance track record within operational teams
  • Effective communication skills
  • Experience in delivering strategic projects with impactful results
  • Ability to demonstrate high risk awareness, operational control, problem solving and process improvement experience
  • Experience working within a fast paced environment where accuracy is critical
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Project management skills
  • Strong data management skills will be considered to be an advantage
  • Experience with both local and international asset management firms
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Transfer Agent processes and deliverables desirable
