Job Description
The Global Sustainable Investing Specialists team with a focus on Asia Pacific (APAC) region is responsible for driving the Sustainable Investing Client Strategy, representing JPMorgan Asset Management's (JPMAM) ESG integrated investment platform across various asset classes, as well as building, positioning, and promoting the JPMorgan Asset Management Sustainable Investing (SI) capabilities to clients.
As a Vice President in the Sustainable Investing Team, you will possess a passion and expertise for advancing sustainable investing, as well as creative and critical thinking about financial markets, and a desire to be part of a strongly motivated team. Previous experience in Asset management or a closely related business is preferred. You will report to the APAC Head of Sustainable Investing Specialists.
Job responsibilities
- Contribute to driving and implementing the commercial roadmap for expanding the sustainable investing solutions to clients as well as a focused client strategy plan for the APAC region, with a particular focus on Singapore and Southeast Asia.
- Lead the implementation of dedicated sustainable mandates & solutions, and development of specific sustainability-related metrics and reporting tools by collaborating with investment, marketing & distribution and client service teams to meet clients' sustainability-related objectives.
- Conduct research around sustainable investing frameworks and solutions, in collaboration with the Global Sustainable Investing Research team and various Investing team.
- Drive focused and strategic interactions with internal and external stakeholders on the ground including clients in delivering JPMAM's sustainable investing capabilities, and coordinate and deliver commercial activities and projects including platform collaterals, marketing events, client pitches, presentation materials preparation, and other client-related information requests including but not limited to surveys, DDQ, RFI, RFP and ad hoc reporting
- Contribute to sustainable finance market capacity building in Singapore and Southeast Asia through providing external trainings sharing thought leadership.
- Help internal stakeholders better articulate JPMAM Sustainable Investing and Stewardship capabilities, through presenting at various channel specific and AM-wide meetings and trainings, in addition to developing content (FAQs, talking points, etc.) to assist distribution teams and investment specialists in delivering content widely.
- Coordinate internally through dedicated working groups and provide SME expertise to support regional regulatory requirements pertaining to product labelling and disclosure, client reporting and any other investment management processes.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- At least 5 years of relevant investment industry experience, including deep understanding and experience in investment management and various asset classes.
- Passion, work experience, and expertise with sustainable investing is a must.
- Outstanding interpersonal characteristics, reputation, and team culture carrier, which will enable them to command the confidence, loyalty, and respect of investment & distribution colleagues.
- Strong analytical skill, decision-making, intellectual curiosity, pro-active and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Pro-active in finding new business ideas as well as thorough in understanding, valuing and maintaining coverage on existing commercial projects
- Excellent attention to detail, resourceful and ability to work independently.
- Understanding of the application of quantitative methods and analytic techniques in the analysis of financial data a plus.
- Strong work ethic, prioritizing responsibilities and managing time effectively.
- This is a demanding job requiring highly motivated individuals who are willing to work hard to build up their knowledge base, performance track record and credibility within the team
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Familiarity and network of Singapore and Southeast Asia sustainable investing industry is preferred.
- CFA or MBA a plus.
- Familiarity with data sources such as MSCI, Sustainalytics, S&P Trucost, etc. a plus.
