Position Overview
The Investor Operations team oversees:
(i) investor and distribution syndicate onboarding (Institutional / Retail investors along with Wirehouse Relationships)
(ii) operational components of product launches;
(iii) capital raise reporting;
(iv) capital activity and communications, e.g. capital calls, dividend payments, tenders;
(v) shadow tracking and calculations of all investor and capital activities;
(vi) investor performance reporting;
(vii) tracking of all broker dealer economics/commissions;
(viii) ad-hoc questions from internal sales team and investors; and
(ix) oversight of related service providers.
Responsibilities:
- Be an enthusiastic and contributing teammate to the Investor Operations team tasked with managing a high volume of investor, financial advisor and internal requests, through a shared email distribution list.
- Assist in developing user guides for technology applications for both internal and external parties.
- Perform daily reconciliations for day-over-day trade activity and other operational processes with the ability to build Excel formulas for additional checks.
- Thoroughly research and clear NIGO (Not in Good Order) items to facilitate smooth transaction and closing processes through AWD and clearly communicate instructions to SS&C processors.
- Review capital event notices and statements across all Blue Owl products.
- Organize and track requests for redemptions and tender offers.
- Assist in ad-hoc tasks as requested by Investor Operations Vice Presidents and Principals.
- Liaise with iCapital to post investor-specific and fund-level documents.
- Liaise with internal Blue Owl teams to research complex requests from investors or their advisors.
- Build and maintain effective, mutually beneficial working relationships with custodians, transfer agents, key Wirehouse / broker dealer home offices, and third-party vendors.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of investor operations experience in the financial services industry, with an understanding of industry standards and practices.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Self-motivated and proactive individual with the ability to work independently and within a team environment and take initiative on projects with minimal supervision. Accountable and reliable, with the desire to learn
- Strong and effective communicator, both verbal and written.
- Experience in reconciling day-over-day Excel reports with ability to build our formulas for additional checks and balances.
- Strong Organizational skills a must, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Focus on MS Excel & PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with AWD2000, SS&C web portal, iCapital & CAIS platforms a plus.
- BDC, Exchange Fund & Interval Fund experience a plus.
- Experience working with Transfers Agents, Clearing Firms & Fund Administrators in the Alternatives space (DST Systems, DTCC, NSCC, SEI, State Street, Computershare, etc.) a plus.
