We are looking for an Artisan to join CHANEL & moi – Les Ateliers.
The position is a permanent contract beginning June 2025 and is based in Zurich with a few months of training to be spent abroad (Paris, London) before onboarding in Les Ateliers.
Job mission:
As Ambassador of CHANEL & moi promise of excellence, you are passionate about leather goods, and craftmanship, as such you will engage clients with providing expertise knowledge in care and repair establishing a deep client loyalty to the House.
As an Artisan with extensive repairs and renovations know-how on all types of leather and accessories, you will repair handbags, small leather goods, and custom jewelry pieces according to CHANEL’s quality standards and expected deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Embody the expertise of CHANEL know-how:
PRODUCT CHECKING
- Checks products’ technical diagnosis and authenticity
- Analyze the repair to be made, and checks the requested repair’s information conformity
- Provide technical diagnosis and tips to repair claim or customer complaint
- Checks the product’s authenticity and identifies possible signs of counterfeiting
- In case of a counterfeit, informs the lead of CHANEL & moi – Les Ateliers
- Decide if the piece can be repaired in Les Ateliers, or should be sent at the Regional Repair Center and ensure the follow up in direct contact with the Repair Center
REPAIR
- Repairs all products according to the repair sheets, CHANEL’s quality standards and the established lead time (that includes leather goods and custom jewellery)
- Perform technical repairs for fashion accessories according to company repair standards and requirements such as:
- Simple/complex Stitch
- Replace shoulder strap/handle
- Replace Zipper/slider/puller
- Edge dying
- Replace eyelet/clasp/press stud and all other metal parts
- Replace strass/pearl/other ornament or accessory
- Rethread bracelet/necklace (CJ)
- Other repair service to recover product functionality
- Other adhoc repair when necessary
- If needed, makes all necessary stitches with a sewing machine, as well as hand-made stitches
- Do final repair process and accurate input in system
- Successfully complete all related training session in Artisan Community with certified badge
QUALITY CONTROL / KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
- Self-monitors his/her repair’s quality: dismantling, gluing, laminating, flat or in-volume assembly operations
- Ensure repair quantity and quality meet service lead time, and productivity targets
SPARE PART / EQUIPMENT MANAGEMENT
- Support repair tools/equipment sourcing and purchase when necessary
- Support the inventory control, sourcing, replenishment of spare parts
Ensure a client-centric approach:
- Be able to bring an expert diagnosis to the client
- Directly communicate with client to deliver technical information for some special case
- Showcasing CHANEL savoir-faire in Les Ateliers
- Demonstrate confidence with expressing CHANEL quality commitment and durability promise
Role Specifications / Profile:
- Technical professional degree in craftsmanship with a specialization preferably in leather goods and/or custom jewellery-making
- Craftsmanship know-how, with a solid experience in leather goods’ finishing operations and repairs: cleaning, stripping, filling, dyeing, polishing
- Expertise in jewellery or custom jewellery is a plus
- Ability to use a sewing machine to repair leathergoods
- Ability to identify problems with problem-solving skills with strong service mindset
- Ability to engage and communicate with clients and internal team on service and technical part development
- Careful, meticulous, with a strong Fashion consciousness
- Challenge-oriented, ability to appreciate the beauty and quality of a luxury product
- Team spirit
- Autonomy with a hands-on and self-motivated personality
- Computer-literate, or willing to learn
- German speaker and a good level in English. French is a plus.
