About this role:
We are seeking an Art Director to play a pivotal role in leading concept development and visual storytelling across a range of creative projects. This individual will work closely with our strategy, creative, and production teams to craft compelling, culture-defining work for MATTE and our brand partners. The ideal candidate is a multi-disciplinary creative with a sharp eye for design, a deep understanding of brand and cultural narratives, and an ability to bring innovative ideas to life across digital, physical, and experiential mediums.
Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee creative concepts across campaigns, brand identity, content, and experiential projects.
- Lead visual storytelling, ensuring high-quality execution across all touchpoints.
- Collaborate closely with strategy, creative, and production teams to bring innovative ideas to life.
- Manage and mentor designers, providing guidance and feedback to elevate creative output.
- Work directly with clients, presenting concepts and refining creative based on feedback.
- Maintain a deep understanding of cultural trends, emerging technology, and design innovation to push creative boundaries.
- Partner with copywriters, strategists, and producers to ensure creative aligns with project goals and brand objectives.
- Balance hands-on design work with high-level creative direction.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a creative agency, studio, or brand-side role.
- Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in branding, digital design, content, and experiential creative.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and other relevant design tools.
- Ability to concept and execute across multiple mediums, from digital to print to physical experiences.
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with experience guiding design teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate creative vision and strategy.
- A deep understanding of cultural trends, design movements, and the creative landscape.
Salary Range: $85,000-100,000/year based on experience
