Hogarth is looking for an Art Director What does an Art Director do at Hogarth?

The Art Director is responsible for producing artwork files that are matched to the brief and suitable for their intended use. You will work across a range of jobs that are 95 percent print and are campaign based. Your knowledge of print production is of a high level, and you are experienced in deciphering, briefs, feedback, die lines and print specs to produce high end print files. ​

Duties:

  • Be able to interpret a brief /creative feedback and implement in layouts. 
  • To use your creative skills to provide the best design solutions for the client 
  • Produce high quality print ready files for a range of printing systems, digital, lithe, gravure and screen. 
  • Effective and timely management of assigned projects 
  • Process amends in an accurate manner and across multiple files. 
  • Complete and track charge-back paperwork and timesheets necessary. 
  • Maintain a superior knowledge of the latest technology; and learn new programs as they are released. 
  • To advise studio management of file status or any potential issues with the file that will affect deadlines or production 
  • Follow all aspects of file management and quality control methods as directed by Studio Management 
  • Maintain brand guidelines and consistency of work across multiple pieces. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in graphic Designer, Animation 
  • 2 years in studio 
  • Advanced English - excellent command of spoken / written language (Interview will be done in English). Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a bilingual environment. Eng/Spanish. 
  • In-depth knowledge of Mac computers. 
  • Knowledge of communication trends.
  • Knowledge of all social media formats.
  • Proficiency in using generative artificial intelligence.
  • Excellent typography skills
  • Understand layout challenges of individual projects; able to provide creative/technical solutions to problems 
  • Experience in photoshop comps and the ability to turn comps in to files if required. 
  • Thorough knowledge of graphic design, pre-press and print processes 
  • Proven ability to work with complex packaging die lines and set up of multiple finishes and embellishments. 
  • Able to provide clear feedback and honest assessments of work 
  • Excellent organization and time management skills 
  • High level of proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop), Adobe Acrobat, Flight Check, and general Typography and Computer Graphics. 

 Skills:

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline orientated workplace without getting stressed. ​
  • An eye for great design and the desire to be involved in, and to make an impact on the design of the final piece. 
  • High level of attention to detail. 
  • The ability to understand a Key Visual and adapt this into other pieces without changing the direction from the original piece.
