Your Role
As an Architect at Gensler, you need to actively participate in all phases of the design process. Innovative thinking balanced with ability to present real-world technical solutions to new design challenges.
You will be focused on researching, promoting, elevating and strategically implementing our diverse ecosystem covering BIM. Must thrive with personal responsibility and accountability but embody and embrace open communication and team-oriented success. You will use your soft skills, relationship building and technical expertise to drive with process enhancement, innovation, optimization and digital platforms implementation in partnership / collaboration with your peers.
What You Will Do
- Lead and execute BIM best practices and BIM Project Execution Planning
- Review, contribute and implement BIM Execution Plans.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop and maintain BIM models using Revit, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to project standards.
- Coordinate BIM delivery at a project level, managing the production of models and other outputs including drawings.
- Create and manage BIM coordinators to support projects
- Collaborate with practitioners and design synergy on how to adopt “back to basics” thinking around design authoring
- Integrate computational thinking as part of the design storytelling for our design teams.
- Assist with the design and delivery of the architectural and/or technical aspects of a project.
- Possess knowledge of architectural design principals, technical details, codes, and material characteristics.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to resolve clashes and conflicts in the BIM models.
- Provide reports to the design team at regular intervals and milestone points of the project.
- Manage and maintain project documentation and data within BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud platform, including model files, drawings, and project information.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to facilitate communication and coordination using BIM technology.
- Stay updated on the latest BIM/VDC technologies, trends, and methodologies to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
- Produce architectural drawing.
- Support communication between project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and building and permitting officials.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor of Architecture or Interior Design.
- 3+ years of project experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a BIM/VDC coordination role within the construction industry, providing clash detection, coordination, and model management.
- Technical training and experience working in Architecture, Engineering, and Design (AED) industries, with detailed knowledge of project processes, milestones and deliverables.
- Proficiency in BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud platform, Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD and Bluebeam.
- Strong understanding of BIM principles, processes, and workflows, and experience producing/implementing BIM Execution Plans.
- An articulate communicator able to convey Design Technology-related concepts to all levels of design and delivery professionals.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Establish, implement and maintain quality control procedures.
- Proactive attitude and ability to take initiative in driving BIM/VDC initiatives forward.
- Strong leadership, communications and relationship management skills.
- Ability to handle difficult situations with tact, grace and emotional intelligence.
- Strong organizational skills.
- 100% bilingual English/Spanish, well written with excellent verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in REVIT and Microsoft office.
