Job Description
KPFF – Sacramento is looking for a full-time AR/AP Specialist to join our team. The primary responsibilities of this position will be managing accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting the accounting team. We’re looking for self-motivated candidates with great communication skills, good time management, and a problem-solving mindset.
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage administrative project setup in our accounting system.
- Maintain and analyze job cost records.
- Track contract and project information, ensuring accurate project data in the accounting software.
- Work with project managers and clients to reconcile project costs.
- Monitor A/R and A/P – work closely with project managers, clients, and vendors.
- Coordinate and interact with the corporate accounting division.
- Become an expert on accounting software functionality and office procedures, with the opportunity to educate others on best practices.
- Assist in other accounting team core responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Minimum BA/BS degree with accounting/finance emphasis or equivalent experience.
- Positive attitude and ability to work in a team environment, be proactive, and take initiative.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting processes.
- Excellent communication skills (by phone, in writing, and in-person) and the ability to professionally collaborate with project managers, clients, and consultants.
- Strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly and identify and resolve problems.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong Word skills.
Other Desired Experience:
- Experience in an engineering consulting firm (or another professional services firm).
- Experience developing custom reports and inquiries utilizing Excel.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Duties are typically performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table
- Ability to actively engage with a computer for several hours per day and communicate over the telephone or virtual meeting platforms.
- May occasionally need to lift items up to 15 lbs.
- Work in the office 5 days/week, with flexible work hours between 7 am and 5 pm

Compensation: The base salary for this role is competitive and will be determined based on the candidate's experience, education, and skills. Additionally, we offer performance-based bonuses to recognize and reward outstanding contributions.
