The Application development Senior Manager will play a key role in managing, enhancing, and supporting critical trading and clearing applications for India Capital markets, ensuring seamless operation and stability. She/he will have to work closely with business users, development teams and production support to deliver technical solutions that meet business needs in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment. This is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with multiple stakeholders across Products team, Business, Compliance etc.
Responsibilities:

Application Management

  • Enhance and maintain Equity trading applications, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Work with the development teams to implement new features, functionality, and issue fixes for trading platforms.
  • Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

Incident and Problem Management

  • Oversee Production support team activities to ensure smooth daily operation, minimizing application downtime during trading hours.
  • Act as the escalation point for production issues, driving root cause analysis and the resolution of complex technical problems.
  • Review post-mortem reports for issues and track action items for issue closure thereby ensuring continuous improvement.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Work closely with front office traders, and other business stakeholders to gather functional requirements and provide solutions that enhance the application user experience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including infrastructure, database, and network teams to maintain application stability.
  • Provide clear communication to the business users on major project updates, application enhancements, outages and resolutions.

Regulatory and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with the SEBI regulations, NSE/BSE circulars.
  • Oversee Regulatory Audits System, Cyber Security, VAPT and also Exchange certifications for CTCL registration / Algo modification.
  • Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards
  • Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.


Qualifications:

  • 10-12 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience working in Financial Services or a large complex and/or global environment.
  • Product Development or Project Management experience
  • Ability to work unsupervised and adjust priorities quickly as circumstances mandate
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment and partner with vendor teams for application enhancements and issue resolution.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements

Technical Skills

  • Experience working in Linux/Unix environments, including knowledge of shell scripting.
  • Basic understanding of database and SQL.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, high pressure trading environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and work both independently and within a team.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Additional Job Description:

  • Experience in front office equity and derivatives trading floor.
  • Well versed with NSE/BSE/SEBI regulations, exchange approval processes, trading platform experience, trading floor user interaction etc.
  • Good technology knowledge in trading technologies, exchange API protocols
  • Self-motivated, good team player.
