This is an exciting opportunity to join the Securities Services technology group at JPMorgan. In this business-facing technology support/SRE role, you will be at the forefront of supporting technology solutions for various products within Securities Services, both locally and globally. This role offers a unique chance for career progression within a rapidly growing business area.
As an Application Support Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Securities Services technology group, you will play a crucial role in a business-oriented technology support/Site Reliability Engineering position. Your responsibilities will include providing technology solutions for a variety of products within Securities Services, both within sites across the Asia Pacific and globally. This role offers a genuine opportunity for career advancement within a business area experiencing growth. You will serve as the primary technology interface for business and operations teams in Manila and across the Asia Pacific region, offering business-oriented technology support and managing production technology incidents until they are resolved.
Job Responsibilities:
• Providing business facing technology support to business and operations groups across the Asia Pacific region.• Working within a follow-the-sun support model with global counterparts • Managing production technology incidents to resolution, ensuring timely engagement, escalation and effective communication to business, technology and vendor partners• Performing post incident analysis, identifying, tracking and implementing preventative measures• Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for key applications, responsible for maintaining global best practice and hygiene standards• Act as a key contributor in the continued development of tools, frameworks & techniques to improve productivity and quality of the production support, adopting SRE principles to manage and support the environment • Develop and support automation tooling to improve the reliability of the platform and to increase the productivity of the team
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
• Formal training or certification on Technology for Financial and Banking sector concepts and 3+ years applied experience• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology• A proven track record of Production Support & SRE: A clear understanding of SRE protocols and methodologies • Support Management skills: design and use monitoring dashboards for day-to-day support, generate service KPIs, report on service stability & performance and log & message bus monitoring• Experience in disaster recovery planning and test execution• A proven track record of running Incident & Problem Management calls for business impacting outages, performing post incident analysis, identifying & implementing preventative measures and lessons learned following outages
• Experience and Skills in the following:

  • Scripting languages such as: Perl, Python, Linux/UNIX shell
  • Database: Oracle, MS-SQL, PostgreSQL, Casandra, Snowflake
  • Telemetry & Application Performance monitoring tools such as: Splunk, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Grafana, ITRS Geneos
  • Schedulers - Control-M / Autosys


Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Ideally: AWS experience & certification: experience with core AWS services such as: EC2, S3, EKS, RDS, Cloudwatch (& DataDog)
  • Prior experience in JAVA development is a plus
