Join us as our new Application Scientist, temporary position
We are looking for a 1-year maternity cover for an application scientist to join Advanced Protein Science and Innovation. In the role you will contribute with application understanding of protein food ingredients within human health and nutrition. The focus of the position is to design and execute application relevant protein testing spanning from physicochemical characterization, developing food relevant prototypes and sensory evaluations all with the aim of driving new product development projects forward from a technical perspective. This role includes hands-on work in the laboratory.

We are a passionate team of scientists and research associates working on developing innovative protein food ingredients for human health and nutrition. In Advanced Protein Science and Innovation, we integrate several competences from cellular and molecular biology, protein chemistry and purification, biophysical characterization, assay development and food application science.
In this role you’ll make an impact by:
- Designing, performing, and evaluating laboratory experiments to generate high quality application relevant data
- Scope and develop new product concepts as well as testing and validating prototypes with potential customers
- Drive product development from very early preparation and characterization of the protein ingredients to development of prototypes for proof-of-concept
- Being able to translate technical insight to clearly explain features and benefits to our customers
- Coordinate with colleagues across functions such as research & development as well as business development to ensure requirements for commercial success are met
Potentially relevant experience:
- PhD or MSc degree within food sciences, technology or innovation, protein chemistry, biochemistry or related field
- Experience with food protein chemistry, method development, and data handling
- Experience developing new food protein products, prototypes and concepts preferably within the human health and nutrition fields
- Good networking and interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills
