Position summary:  Application Modernization Architect in Kyndryl, is a person who has good experience in application design, development, and modernization. Person will lead & mentor the application modernization projects

Responsibilities

The chosen candidate will play the following roles and take on the below responsibilities.

• As application consultant, engage with clients -

  • Conduct a TCO/ROI study to come up with the value proposition for application modernization

  • Define strategies for cloud adoption of key business applications (focusing on the mapping of business requirements to IT capabilities and align the same).

  • Define the approach and plan for application modernization

  • Provide architectural leadership to Solution Architects to deliver thoughtful IT solutions to the business

• As Lead Architect for project delivery -

  • Engage with clients to design applications based on business requirements covering Applications, Data, Cloud Technology & Application Authentication & Authorization.

  • Performing quality review of project deliverables. Lead work sessions and client discussion.

  • Spearheading the complete Solution Architecture, Digital Transformation, Cloud Modernization & Architecture, Software Development and Performance Tuning

  • Collaborate with enterprise architecture, information security, application & infrastructure teams to produce an optimal, high level, conceptual, and cost-effective application designs by using microservices patterns and best practices

  • Design the migration and modernization strategy, transitional process necessary for application to be onboarded on cloud-based architecture that includes APIs, microservices and containers.

• Offering and capability development

  • Create application migration and modernization offerings based on market demand and develop delivery capabilities for its execution.

  • Define reference architecture for new offerings and provide key differentiator inputs to offering teams in terms of new technology adoption in application area.

Required Technical and Professional Experience:

• Overall 10+ years of relevant IT experience, with minimum 5 years of experience in area of Application Design, Development & Modernization.

• Should have end to end working experience in application development across cloud native environments.

• Good understanding and experience of cloud native application design principles (like micro-services, stateless application meant for cloud, containers, 12 factor app principles etc.)

• Familiarity with tools such as New Relic, Splunk

• Must have executed large app modernization and cloud native architecting programs (at least 2 programs).

• Primary Skills: Java, Java Servlet, Java JSP, JEE API, 12 Factor Application Design, Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring MVC, Spring Integration, Spring Data Package Manager – Maven / Gradle JavaScript, Html, CSS Design and deployment of DB framework and Logical Data Modals Kubernetes, OpenShift, Cloud experience (AWS/Azure/Google/IBM)

• Experience in deployment of applications to various middleware components

• Must have exp in DevOps framework.

• Optional Skills: Microservice, Containerization, SOAP, Domain driven design concept Angular, ReactJS, ExpressJS, VueJS MS SQL, Redis, Dynamo, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, NoSQL DB, MySQL, Oracle, Python, NodeJs , JPA, Quarkus, Hibernate, Cloud API Gateways and API management, Go, Scala, Web Application Server - Tomcat, Jboss , Open Liberty, Apache Kafka, Apache Tomcat, Nginx, EAP, Jetty, Oracle WebLogic, NodeJS, RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka, JIRA, Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, GIT, NEXUS.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Certification (added advantage)

• Oracle Certified Professional, Java EE 7 Application Developer

• Professional Architect Certification in any of the cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)

• Cloud based DevOps Certification

• Cloud based Developer Certification

• MCSA: Web Applications
