Application Engineer

What You Will Be Doing:
Lead the software development teams in all aspects of the development or delivery lifecycle. Develop, test, and maintain software to meet the needs of our business community. Mentor other Senior Software Engineers in applying best practices and standard operating procedures. Focus is on overall delivery of business value via features, retirement of tech deft, and overall innovation and modernizations.
What We're Looking For:
- Typically requires five to seven years of software engineering or software development experience, or related work experience is preferred.
- Hands-on programming or delivery experience using relevant languages specified in the Shelter Technology Radar or in a vendor’s technology stack.
- Experience using relevant tool suites.
- Creative analytical and problem-solving skills with strong organization and time management skills.
- Experience managing the software development lifecycle.
- The ability to prioritize activities and deliver projects on time and within budget.
- A comprehensive understanding of computer science concepts.
- Excellent coding skills with extensive knowledge of agile methodologies.
- A willingness to obtain at least one new certification within the designated learning path.
- Ability to perform essential functions of the job, with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Shelter maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in geographic location, education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Please remember that this range is the starting base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position.
