Job Title:Application Development Engineer, Functional Coatings
Summary:We’re seeking a dynamic, results-driven Application Development Engineer (ADE) to join our Coatings team. The ADE will be instrumental in driving market growth, providing application support, and expanding our functional coatings portfolio. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit to identify and develop new market opportunities. Strong project management skills are required to drive opportunities to completion.
Responsibilities Include:
- Conduct field market development and application development within the Consumer and Industrial sectors for our Functional Coatings portfolio.
- Lead new product launches at customer sites, providing necessary equipment and application support.
- Manage sampling, prototyping, internal and external line trials, and the presentation of technical data. Clearly communicate value propositions to customers.
- Identify new leads and opportunities, contributing to the growth of our new business pipeline.
- Collaborate with Sales, ADE, Marketing and Technology teams globally to achieve full product qualification and realize sales.
- Support promotional activities, including tradeshows, technical seminars, and the creation of marketing literature.
- Up to 50% domestic travel
Qualifications:
The following are required for the role
- PhD degree in a Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering
- 4+ months industry experience
- Excellent project management, analytical, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and part of a global team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant software tools.
- Preferred to have Coatings industry experience.

What We Offer:Base Pay Range: $90,500 - $132,550
The actual salary offered is determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, skill sets, and geography. Local geographic pay differentials may not be reflected in the above pay range and will be discussed with you by a member of the HR team when applicable. Additionally, this role is eligible for incentive or sales variable compensation payments. The amount of these incentives is based on the terms of the Company's incentive plans, the Company's financial performance, and/or individual employee job performance.
