We are looking for a talented application developer to join our team and contribute to ongoing and upcoming projects.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting software applications using the IBM z/OS mainframe operating system.
As a z/OS Developer, you will work as an expert across Banking Application implementation projects. You will have the opportunity to work close to our clients, to understand their requirements and to translate them to technical specifications.
Responsibilities
- Participate in full software development lifecycle of an IT project.
- Design client & server-side architectures.
- Apply existing standards for programming, naming, security & performance and provide proper code documentation.
- Write clean, scalable code.
- Test and deploy applications and systems.
- Revise, update, refactor and debug code.
- Improve existing software.
- Act as technical consultant for the client.
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience as an Application Developer (back-end preferred) in Card System area.
- Willingness to learn application development in z/OS platform (if already not familiar)
- Knowledge of programming languages such as C, Java, or Python
- Experience with relational databases such as DB2 (preferred) and SQL Server
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming concepts
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)
- Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a distributed team adhering to strict deadlines and challenging targets
- Analytical thinking with problem-solving abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Fulfilled military services obligations (if applicable)
Nice to have
- Proven experience of at least 1 year in AS400 or z/OS mainframe operating systems.
- Knowledge of API practices (RESTful), dependency injection
- Experience with version control systems such as Git or SVN
- Ability to communicate & cooperate efficiently with remotely located co-workers using collaboration tools (Microsoft Teams, Slack)
- Experience from the banking and/or financial industry
- Knowledge of Jira and Confluence tools
