Position Overview:

As an Appian Architect, you will be responsible for both hands-on development and the strategic direction of our Appian practice. You will play a pivotal role in leading the development and implementation of complex business process management solutions using the Appian platform, with a focus on supporting the U.S. Army’s digital transformation efforts. In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will be instrumental in building out the Appian practice within our company, mentoring junior developers, fostering knowledge sharing, and supporting the onboarding of new talent.

Your role will require a combination of technical expertise, leadership, and a passion for growing the capabilities of the team. You’ll work closely with project teams, clients, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions while ensuring that the Appian platform is integrated effectively across all solutions we provide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-level Appian solutions for the U.S. Army, including the integration of 14 legacy systems into a single automated solution.
  • Work hands-on with the Appian BPM platform and Appian Data Fabric to create data models, develop automated workflows, manage integrations, and implement complex security rules.
  • Collaborate with Appian developers to ensure the best practices are followed, and help ensure the technical quality of all delivered solutions.
  • Ensure the architectural integrity, scalability, and performance of the solutions, making design decisions that balance complexity with maintainability.

Appian Practice Development:

  • Develop and lead the Appian practice within the organization, helping to define our Appian strategy and evolve our best practices.
  • Build processes to onboard new Appian developers and architects, ensuring they are set up for success and aligned with our delivery model.
  • Develop training materials and plans to help team members improve their technical skills and understanding of the Appian platform.
  • Mentor junior developers and architects, providing guidance on technical challenges, code reviews, and career development.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning within the team, ensuring that knowledge is shared and that the team is kept up to date with the latest developments in the Appian platform.

Collaboration & Client Engagement:

  • Work directly with clients, particularly the U.S. Army, to understand business requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and deliver high-quality implementations.
  • Collaborate with other solution architects, business analysts, and project managers to ensure that Appian solutions meet client needs and are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Help in the development of proposals, including providing expert insight into the architecture and integration of Appian solutions.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation:

  • Stay up to date with the latest Appian platform features and capabilities, and incorporate them into the solutions we deliver.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the Appian practice and lead the implementation of those improvements.
  • Contribute to internal research and development efforts, exploring ways to integrate Appian into new areas of our business and solution offerings.

Key Qualifications:
