The APAC Operations Accounting COE Manager manages the financial operations and services of the PPG Operations Accounting COE team. You will collaborate with other teams including Finance, HR, Controllership, Audit and Operations, to lead financial efficiency across the organization. You will be based at PPG Malaysia Shared Services office in Shah Alam and report directly to Director, Operations Accounting APAC.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy:

Consistency of processing for each site and ERP system.

Distribute workload amongst the team for the most efficient execution of the task list.

Manage the team to ensure backup solutions, rotations, cross-training.
-
Maintain task documentation, i.e., checklists, and templates.
-
Make recommendations for opportunities to: Automate, Simplify, Eliminate, (or Transfer) tasks.

Regular collaboration, communications and coordination with Operations Accounting Analysts to achieve timely completion of tasks.

Collaborate with auditors to provide necessary documentation, and together with Operations Accounting Analysts, provide support and explanations during the audit.

Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with PPG global business goals.General tasks, includes:

Month end support: preparing manual journals and parking reclass, amortization, and accrual journals for approval.

Report extraction and delivery: GRNI, Inventory adjustments, Magna Carta, Cost Centre results, Variance detail and summary.

General Ledger Account reconciliations (with support from Operations Accounting Analysts).

Cost Revision support: running system processes, extracting and uploading system dataTeam Leadership and Development:

Lead a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, and performance feedback.

Foster a collaborative work environment.

Develop and implement training programs to enhance the financial skills of the team.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. A professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is preferred.

5+ years of experience in global finance management.

5+ years of experience in audit compliance.
-
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
-
Multiple language skills English / Mandarin as a minimum.
